Campsite was very nice however, the bathrooms, in particular, the shower stalls, need to be updated. Latrine and wash area is rather cramped. Knee clearance while sitting on the stool is minimal and hiking up your trousers is difficult. The shower stalls were inadequate. While there was hot and cold running water, there were basic amenities any decently designed shower area would have. For instance, there was no seating either in or out of the shower stall itself that most older folk would need to sit and dress or towel off. There was only one hook for hanging clothes (both what you wear into the shower and what you would wear out, after toweling off.). NO HANDHOLDS for elderly folk who might need to balance themselves on a slippery floor. No shelf at hand level for placing shampoo and soap while in the shower. An extra "treat" would be to have a full length mirror outside the shower stall for brushing hair and adjusting clothing. In this modern day, there really is no excuse for not having adequate shower and bathroom facilities.

Bandits Roost is not handicap friendly! I've had a recent knee replacement plus my knee and hip is in bad shape. I do have a State Handicap Placard. With that being said, a Park Ranger knocked on our camper door to tell us not to use our electric scooter ( which he insisted it was a golf cart). My husband drives me around on the two person scooter because it's hard for me to walk around to enjoy the park. The Ranger informed us to only use it to take me to the bathhouse (which isn't necessary for me due to our camper having one). He said I needed to be the driver and absolutely no joy riding! Now why would I want to stay in a Park I can't enjoy! I feel this park discriminates against someone who needs a scooter to enjoy the surroundings! We will not be back! We instead left two days early due to basically being confined to our site.

The power was out in the area around the campground including the campground for about 20 hrs. Due to this the bathhouse was closed. While I understand why it was closed, it made for an unpleasant day overall.

Banditsroost campground is great. We walked the entire campground, which is huge, and we didn’t see any sites that we wouldn’t be comfortable staying in. The lake is awesome and the whole area on land and water is very clean and well kept. Only wish is that they had full hook ups without dumping at dump station. Had a great time and will definitely be back soon.

It’s our home away from home. I wish we could come more often. It gets harder to get in .
