We like camping at Cape Point as it is not crowded. Quiet time allows you to have a peaceful stay. The restrooms and showers are convenient and clean. There is parking for beach access without having to buy a pass to drive on the beach. Not commercial like the northern area of OBX. Short drive to the ferry to Ocracoke. Conners is great for shopping for most things you would need.

There had been rain a few days prior to our arrival and the ground was still wet. This added to the large volume of mosquitos. We have stayed at the same location many times and rarely have mosquitos.

Seeing the deer and other wildlife at the campsite was awesome. The activities arranged by the Rangers made it a great learning experience. I especially enjoyed the stargazing stories by the Rangers on the beach at night. I learned about not only the stars but how light pollution affects us all. I recommend everyone attend on a clear night and see the milky way while next to the ocean.
