Visiting Cochiti during the shoulder season is awesome. It is so peaceful.

Good sites, nice campground and great scenery. Camp host and park rangers are useless. Generator going at 10:00pm; loud music all day and starting at 4:30am; dogs running loose; we stayed Thursday thru Sunday and by Sunday the bathrooms were trashed.

This is a tent camper's dream lakeside campground! All the sites have a nice gravel area that's perfect for pitching a tent, the picnic tables are under a sturdy shelter that also has a pole for hanging things, the campground rules prohibiting alcohol and campfires mean that there aren't late parties like many other lakeside campgrounds, and best of all, there are great showers. Since it was in the 40's F the night I stayed, and the showers had no temperature control knob, I was afraid it would be a very cold and unpleasant experience. I've never been happier to be wrong - the water was nice and cozy warm but not too hot, and there was an overhead heat lamp that kept the chill off. By far one of the nicest, quietest, and most affordable campgrounds I've stayed in on public lands.

We stopped here just for 1 night on our way home during a 7 week road trip. What a pleasant surprise this campground was! We had a basic site, non-electric. The site was spacious and very private. A huge plus to us was the showers included with the campground fee...it had been a few days! ?? The bathroom facilities were spotless, as was the whole campground.

Great camp ground. Clean showers and bathrooms. Love the concrete parking pads and concrete tables. Have stayed here 2 times and can’t wait to return. This is a wonderful place.
