The one thing which would have made this campsite even better — having a water supply that’s closer to the actual parking spot. Who carries a 100 foot long hose?! Few campers I know.

The views here are phenomenal. We loved being far out and up on the higher loop that afforded a greater view. We were disappointed in two significant things. One, the bathroom facility for our loop was closed (reason wasnt givenjust locked and a sign stating it was closed). So, we had to drive to another loop everyone we needed to use the facility. With four little children, I cant tell you what an inconvenience that was. It really altered our experience at the campground. It added some chaos to what shouldve been relaxing. Had I been informed ahead of time, I likely wouldnt have booked here, or had chosen a different loop. The second complaint we have is that the water faucet for our site had an immense water pressure (thats fine!) but it didnt have a good runoff path or rock bed. So, it would quickly run off into our neighbors site if we werent careful! We did our best to create a damn with rocks to direct the water for future guests. Finally, I would add that it was terribly frustrating to get in contact with anyone to ask a question about our reservation. The best we could get was through the general state site, but never one for the campground directly. Overall, we would love to return if some of these issues were addressed.

How is this gem of a campground not full in early September. Electric and water at a National Park surrounded by gorgeous mountains. Next to the park is an excellent golf course with 18 holes of breathtaking views at a reasonable price. Hiked 5 miles across the top of the Cochiti dam.Recommend this site to anyone.
