Disappointed. Have stayed here many time but this visit the bathrooms/ showers at Buffalo were very dirty, no toilet paper, paper towels or soap. One bathroom at boat dock closed other one dirty. When leaving found the dump station very full and unable to dump. Tried the upper station and it was locked. For it being a long holiday weekend expected things to be in better condition.

The Army Corp of Engineers campgrounds are an excellent venue to enjoy the great outdoors.Well layed out with ample space between sites, smooth paved roads and helpful, friendly rangers. Great value!!

We had a great stay at this campground. The campsite was clean and had amazing views of the lake and Ortiz mountains to the west. We appreciated how the maintenance people came in and cleaned the heck out of the restrooms. Would definitely come back.

Very nice well maintained campground. The lake was too high to enjoy but the camping was nice, beautiful views. I gave it a 4 because one if the two showers available on Buffalo Grove loop was broken.

A nice park with potential but with one fatal flaw that kills it. We spent 5 days at Cochiti Lake in a travel trailer. The sites in the electric/water loop are nicely laid out and properly spaced. There is a nice view of the lake. There is a campground host but that person is off duty Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On those days, I guess, the park runs on auto-pilot. During the 5 days spent at Cochiti Lake I did not see anyone that I could identify as a ranger or authority in charge. Now for the fatal flaw, the bathrooms are filthy. The floors, the toilets, and the showers are not fit for humans, I have pictures. My wife took a spray bottle of a bleach solution to clean her shower floor and shower before she would use that facility. Once in the 5 days a vehicle showed up and 2 people entered the building to clean. They were in and out in less than 10 minutes. I was a work camper and cleaned shower/bathroom buildings many times. In my experience, it should have taken one and a half hours to properly clean both sides of that facility. In a telephone call, I expressed these sentiments to a park ranger. He blamed the problem on the contractor. Sorry that doesnt fly. The people charged with running the park (the park rangers) are responsible to ensure the cleanliness of the facility. If they have chosen to hire a contractor to do the work, they are still responsible to check that the job is being properly accomplished. What a shame, a nice park, it could be much nicer.

Overall great trip. Power and water worked. Easy to back into spaces with plenty of room. Only issue was that the grass had been recently cut and it was all over the campsite with lots of goat heads in it.

Always enjoy that it is only 1 hr from Albuquerque and your able to enjoy the great outdoors. They price for an overnight stay is great. I also enjoy that we are able to use my kayak on the water along with fishing.

We love camping at Cochiti because it is convenient at only a 1 hour drive from our home in Albuquerque, we have a choice of dry camping with electricity or sites with both water and electricity and there are 2 dump stations on site (3 units can dump simultaneously. There is a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The sites are spaced nicely. There is moderate hiking through the 4 camping areas. You want air conditioning in the summer because the altitude is 1 mile high.
