Amazing campground and definitely one of our favorites in New Mexico. Great for our small 14 teardrop and tow vehicle - paved driveway. May be tight for larger rigs. We had a covered picnic table, fire pit and the best grill of any campground weve stayed at - it was enclosed with a large grill space. We put our charcoal in it and it was like an oven with the lid closed! The downside was the proximity to bathroom (we dont have one in our teardrop), which were also close to the vault toilets. Wish our loop had these spread out more so the other side of the loop had easier access to a bathroom. The other downside was the very bright beaming light from the host campsite that was adjacent to our site - it beamed towards our site and was on until about 10pm nightly. This did not make for good campfire ambiance and wish it was turned in another direction.Camp hosts were the most friendly of any campground we have stayed at! Great info and super nice! Location was great for fishing and exploring, plus convenient to Bodes store and a half hour from Espanola shopping.

The Rangers were absolutely committed to making sure we enjoyed our camping experience after we had a confusing experience with the camp host who gave us wrong information. We were a group of 4 women over the age of 60 and wanted to stay together at one campsite.

The campground was spotlessly clean, and our site (#4) had an unobstructed view of the landscape with a peek-a-boo view of the lake. We were met by the host, who was friendly and ran through everything efficiently. There is a trash barrel at each site, which we liked a lot. The only unfortunate thing was that there was a fire about 10 miles away on the other side of the lake, so there was a lot of smoke. Of course, that's not the campground's fault. We will stay here again.

Beautiful campground on a Reservoir in northern New Mexico. Met a great Army Corps of Engineers worker their name Brady. Very informative about the area.

Having enjoyed this inspiring and serene place for many years, hoped for it to continue but the beautiful landscapes cannot take the place of downright unwelcoming and near verbally abusive hosts, who in our case caused us to leave early because no one likes being told they are being watched, treated like children by having to repeat the "camp rules" or treated like a criminal who is going to steal "their wood" , when your just trying to relax and enjoy your stay. The campground itself is poorly taken care of, even by COVID standards. The bathrooms look like they have not been thoroughly cleaned in months, which was never the case during past visits. At the very least, the host we had should be ashamed of their efforts to malign people and keep people from enjoying one of the best places in New Mexico. The unfortunate part is that the other camp hosts, who were off duty were very friendly and welcoming to us. Hope something improves, so this place can return to its glory days of amazing sunsets.

Wonderful staff! Loved the personal touch from Cindy. She helped us welcome family for a brief visit as they were passing through. And the sky and views are amazing! Best sunset ever! Clean facilities, and well-cared for area. Like-new playground for kids. Also, good location for excursions - Echo Canyon a must see, and Abiquiu Dam & Recreation area for river fun. Highly recommend!

Breathtaking scenery, quiet campground near a stunning lake. Sites are all well maintained, with plenty of space between sites. Camp hosts are super friendly and helpful in suggesting nearby activities and hikes.
