I love the proximity to the bay and ocean in a clean camp ground private from crowds and nice maintained rest rooms. Which it was opened through October though

comfortable & convenient - we enjoy being so close to the bay, bike path, the ocean, etc

Very friendly, very helpful park employees - rangers. The campsite is very clean, great to have a tent under the roof (if it rains). The sandy nudist beach, swimming with big fish, was very refreshing. My whole body was fully connected with nature, I felt that I was in the best place on planet earth. See you soon. And thank you!

Sandy Hook is always beautiful, the campsites are no different. The Ranger who helped us at our campsite was a total professional and went beyond his job responsibilities to help us. Camp Gateway will definitely see us again!

Rangers were helpful, site was laid out sensibly, and parking lot on our stay was accessible.

Only complaint is with reservation system: reservations showed as nearly full/very very booked, with only a few sites available and handicap accessible site not available. On night of our stay there were maybe 6 sites in use, if that, and no one in the entire section of the campground with the accessible site. This is probably a recreation.gov site issue, not a SH specific one.
