Beautiful views, quiet, clean outhouses, what more can you ask for? We enjoyed our stay and will return to hike up the canyon.

Beautiful views, super friendly and helpful camp hosts, and clean, warm bathrooms! Only thing is be mindful that some sites are smaller than others when booking your site.

Campground is devoid of scenery, improvements, privacy, and amenities. It is purely a place to sleep close to Las Vegas, and close, but too far from the State Park. Windy, dusty, bleak.

Didn't realize when we booked #39 & #48 that we could not pull our van into a spot, just had to park along the side of it. They were still great spots, but would have preferred being able to pull into a spot and park. We would definitely return. Great sunsets and star gazing.

Clean campground, very clean pit toilets, great location, hosts friendly. Very poor Verizon coverage

We stayed in campsite 38 & 39 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The camp hosts were excellent and the vault toilets were the cleanest I've ever seen in our multiple trips to the campground.

Should all be FF - Such a waste. This is a prime target campground for affluent owners of 100k rigs to reserve all the spaces, months ahead and then not show up and they don't care and lose the money. The result is an empty campground is always "full" - or when it is not - people have to take the worst spaces with no shade and stare the surrounding nice EMPTY spots with reservation tags. At a minimum it should all go FF after the summer season. Also, Just a weird vibe to this place. Confusing entry, signage - no trails for hiking integrated. The whole place seems to fall short in USFS mission with our campgrounds.

This is quite a lovely place so close to the unnatural Vegas strip. Some of the sites seem more like tent sites even though you can park a camper on the side of the road. There are also no sinks or showers. Otherwise, it was really wonderful.

The site was very clean, no complaints. The camp hosts were great. They frequented the area making sure everything was as it should be. Great location for day hiking or cruising into town. Everyone was friendly and quiet.

Basic campsites, no shade on most sites, maybe 20% had covered picnic table areas, great location close to Red Rock. Good level tent spaces provided. No showers. Water only at pit toilets. Clean. Hosts did a good job of patrolling.
Reservation system needs major work. We couldn’t get the same space for two nights, instead were forced to move camp. Three others around us were doing the same, carrying tents and equipment in what looked like a giant game of musical chairs. This despite the fact that about a third of the sites were unoccupied. And two of the sites that moved had no one in the vacated space the next night. Most sites were ‘reserved’ but unoccupied. We were told by the park hosts that people had paid but not shown up…hard to believe that there were that many ‘no shows.’

The camp hosts were friendly and a pleasure to speak with (Barbara and Dennis). The location is in a convenient, well-kept campground with solar-powered bathrooms to emit light during the night time which is a plus. The area where you place your tent is flattened out which helps with setting up your rig and keeping strapped down during winds.

Campground was very clean and well-kept, especially the restrooms and the camp hosts were very friendly! The only minor exception is that our fire ring at site #39 was almost completely full with ash upon arriving. I had to dig it out in order to safely build a fire in the ring, but it wasn't a big deal. It rained a little bit on our first night, which made me really appreciate the elevated, gravel-filled areas that are provided at the tent sites. The small pea-gravel base allows rainwater to quickly drain, so you don't end up with a puddle under your tent!

This campground has excellent proximity to the Scenic Loop and offers great views throughout, as you are surrounded by several towering buttes. A short trek up the ridge on the northeast side of camp allows breathtaking views of Red Rock Canyon and the Calico Basin area. If you are trying to stargaze, you may be disappointed as the light pollution from Las Vegas is a fact-of-life at night, however, you get some great silhouettes of the buttes, against the bright night's sky. Occasionally, there's a little bit of noise from the nearby rifle range during the afternoon, but its not too bad either. Overall, a great "base camp" for seeing Red Rock Canyon, and it exceeded my expectations, despite being so close to Vegas.

This is a beautiful area and the campground was very fine. Red Rock Canyon is amazing. If you are there over a holiday, be sure to check park hours as they may be limited and you may not know that until you are about to enter.
One other warning: The campground website does not indicate the nature of the sites. Ours did not allow for us to pull in; but rather, we were simply parked "in the street." Wishing they would improve on this . . .

Great camp site hosts, moved us into a shaded site without issue and were very helpful with local advice.
