It was very hard to get a campsite because of high demand, yet every day there were sites that went unused because of no-shows that did not cancel. We feel this due, at least in part, because of the rec.gov policy to charge for making a cancellation. A change in policy that rewarded people who make timely cancellations and penalized those who don't would probably make for more efficient use of the facilities. The camp hosts would have to record the occupancy, but all of the hosts we have talked to are very frustrated dealing with unhappy travelers who they have to turn away while campsites go unused.

Very nice campground. Grounds seemed well-kept and bathrooms were clean. Great location to access Red Rock. Camp hosts were friendly and welcoming. Book sites early, they go fast!

Campsites were quite nice although there was no privacy (well, that is camping for you). Pit toilets were clean and not smelly. Our site was close to the entrance and there was noise fromVehicles entering/exiting all night! Be prepared for little to no cell service.

Great camp site. Well spaced and perfect surroundings for winter RV'ing. It's a good mix of walk-in tent sites and larger sites for vehicles/RV's. Loved the large covers over the picnic tables.

Red Rock Canyon campground lacks piped water so recommend RV's to fill tanks before arriving. Water is available from a spigot from a holding tank to fill water jugs but it can be a bit much to haul 5-10 gallon jugs of water to the RV. Also no dump stations so have some dump stations in Las Vegas in mind after your stay at Red Rock Canyon.

Neighbors were wasted and partied all night. Nobody in our group got much sleep. Cancelled our reservation for the next two nights but didn’t get any money back due to cancellation fees.

The area is just beautiful with tons of trails all around. The bathrooms were clean, and the campsite was quiet at night. All in all a great place to spend some time away from your electronic gadgets with friends and family.

The camp hosts are very nice. And the campground itself does the job. It could really use showers. There is no cell signal, which is important these days. You can get signal in the day use area pullout on the access road. The camp ground is very close to the park itself, just a couple minutes to the entrance. The problem with camping in the Red Rock area in general is that this is the ONLY campground, and it's just not enough. It's ridiculous that there has not been another campground built to meet demand. The land behind the current camp, higher on the hill to catch cell signal from Vegas seems like an obvious choice. And include showers!
