We did have reservations, which we rarely get. It was busy here mid week and all sites were reserved except for 1 tent walk in site, which had a sign saying you had to get the site on recreation.gov. or risk a $125 fine. Many of these reserved sites went empty with no show campers.
The road in is paved but the campground is gravel. Not all sites are the same. About 1/2 had tables on cement pads with a ramada and benches around the fire pit. Others only had tables and firepits. All had tent pads, except for the RV loop sites. We camped here with our 40' 5th wheel in site 45, which was a long back in site, however it was not level front to back. Sites were either back in or pull out.
Numerous clean pit toilets, trash dumpster located at the entrance of the campground, water spigots near pit toilets, group campsites, camp host.
Red Rock Canyon is a few miles away. The campground is very popular with rock climbers.
super clean rest rooms
mostly quiet
happy to keep coming back
We were in spot number 45 and had a nice views of sunset and sunrise. The spaces include a picnic table fire ring and a sandy area to set up tents in if you need that. The bathrooms were very clean and scattered throughout the campground.
We went to red rock Canyon before 8 AM each day as we did not have a timed entry pass that you need between eight and five. That was great because we beat the heat of the day and I think lots of the crowds. We really enjoyed red rock Canyon.
Make your reservations but if you want to change them or cancel them, good luck dealing with Rec.Gov customer service, you probably won't get any money back!
