The campground is super basic with no privacy (limited desert vegetation and campsites close together). They have pit toilets (half of which are closed due to Covid, with the campground running at full capacity, which is a head-scratcher for me) and potable water taps. The water tastes bad so bring extra for drinking. Sites with a sun shelter are a must. You can use them to hang a tarp to block the wind. Otherwise you are fully exposed to the harsh desert weather.
One of the campers in the RV area was running two very loud generators in the morning (starting at 6 AM on the dot) and in the evening (until 10 PM on the dot) for several days in a row. It basically ruined the experience of camping for me, and annoyed our neighbors as well. The generator guy didn't care at all that he was causing such a disturbance (I politely spoke with him directly about it) and the camp hosts couldn't do anything about it, as the generators were running during "generator hours". If you are staying in a tent and hoping to have a peaceful existence in your camp site, I suggest finding a site as far away from the RV area as possible. Or, get a group together and stay in a group site.
I've camped here twice before and there was less audible gunfire than on previous trips -- there's a shooting range down the road. So, be prepared to hear that, too.
Due to the lack of any buffer (visual, sound, or otherwise) from other campers, I'll never stay in this campground again.
Also, it really needs showers.
