Wanted to cancel but the fee was my full cost so I didn’t. I didn’t stay there and I didn’t cancel, but I’m sure someone else would have liked to stay in my spot given the campground was full. If you allow refunds later I would have cancelled to give someone else my spot. Or an option to cancel and only get your money back if someone takes your spot would be nice. But as is there was no motive for me to cancel. Besides this campground is a zoo, not a nice place to stay

The scenery is wide-open desert, with mountains in the distance. Your only shade is what some of the campsites offer, however not all of them have shade covers, the photos can throw you off so check the wording or inquire, FYI #29 has no shade! It's truly wide open, there are no large trees, mainly Creosote bushes and a few scattered Joshua trees, but the sites are well spaced, not crowded at all. The walk-in sites that we used had no shade but were clean and marked off by stone borders. The grills were well maintained and we managed to use ours one night when the wind calmed down. There are no fire rings in the walk-in area but the host allowed a propane fire-ring. We also had a picnic table. In late March 2021 we had snow one morning and wind at 23 mph for a few days, it was exhilarating and a bit challenging to camp in tents but we held on. We saw quite a few downed tents and bent tentpoles! We also managed to camp in site #9 where we had a shade cover, picnic table, fire ring and benches. In March it's best to bring 2 large tarps and 16 bungee cords to create wind blocks under the shade cover. (You'll thank me!) The place overall has a sense of cleanliness and care. The compost toilets were always clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The hosts were helpful, willing to chat, and provided a sense of security.
