Aside from our fire ring not being properly maintained, meaning, the air holes for ring were buried and I didn't even know they were there until I saw other sites, which caused us to not be able to have a fire at all because it kept going out due to no oxygen, the stay was great. Ppl with annoying barking dogs was a bummer but we still had fun.

Although theres no cell service which made research impossible, we enjoyed our stay at this campground. We appreciated the host informing us of an impending tornado and where to go for safety. This location is close enough to New Waverly, Conroe and Montgomery that services are readily available. We spent a week there and other campers were quiet and respectful until the usual Friday night crowd arrived with loud voices, music and late night campfires. We would visit again when in the area.

Well a great break from the city life, everything started with the welcome from Linda, very welcoming and our loop #2 was clean, the restrooms park needs remodeling but they were clean. We plan to go back soon.

Great park, nice and clean. Restrooms were well maintained. The camp hosts, Linda and her husband were exceptionally helpful. I wish they had a fishing dock. We fished from shore with great results but my husband lost his glasses in the lake trying to retrieve a snagged line. It would also be nice for campers to have a place to clean their fish. This was our second trip here, but we will return more often.

Cagle is unique in that campers are not parked right next to each other. The space and serenity of the campground make for an enjoyable experience.

We love our Texas and national parks and have been traveling to Sam Houston for decades. Every camping trip has been memorable for all the right reasons. Our most recent trip will stand out not because it was enjoyable but because it was rather uncomfortable. Upon arrival it was a great feeling to be back to a familiar campground until the site manager came around to burst our bubble about campfires. We were unaware that there was a burn ban. Shame on me for not keep hourly tabs on the location's rainfall totals but this is something simple that could have been included in the email correspondence. We now knew the cold temperatures were going to be a bit more difficult to bear. More uncomfortable than the cold, sleepless night was the fact that we were being watched throughout our short stay by the gestapo on the golf cart. Golf carts are not allowed on the campground either, by the way. Its one thing to inform us of park rules and regulations (and post passive aggressive text and signs on handouts and bathrooms) but to watch unfamiliar persons like a hawk is uncalled for. Unbeknownst to her, I kept notes on how often I saw her checking up on us, driving by to inspect, or just flat out being nosey. We were respectful to our surroundings, kept our site neat, threw our trash away diligently, and kept our puppy on a leash. Not sure our puppy was the one that needed the leash. Needless to say we cut our trip short and sought other arrangements where we can enjoy ourselves and the great outdoors.

Beautiful area on Lake Conroe. Host were friendly and helpful. The camping spaces are not cramped together which adds to the enjoyment of the experience. Only negative comment is that some of the RV parking sites are not level. We have a motorhome and were unable to level it. The hosts were able to relocate us to a more level site. Good boat ramp with parking area for boat trailer. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Look forward to doing it again.

I liked the size of the site and the two loops that were available. Although I would have preferred the Sycamore loop as it was closer to the lake. At our site in the Sweet Gum Loop we had plenty of room to play volleyball. The trails are very well maintained and we enjoyed waking the dog. The bathrooms could use some improvement. The faucet spewed water all over everywhere and it would have been nice to have more than one shower.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.
