The road speed bumps were unpainted and were quite a shock to the shocks. The Bathroom was inadequate with 1 stall in the mens room and the door didn't latch. The shower floor was covered in soap scum except where people stand. Other wise not a bad place to stay

Very clean campsite. Plenty of room for the kids to play and your neighbors are not right on top of you. Nice trails to walk around on.

Two friends and I were doing a bicycle tour through east Texas and camped at Cagle Recreation area. The camp hosts went above and beyond to provide us with a bit of firewood and a bag of ice when they went to the store during the evening. The assistance was very much appreciated by three tired bicyclists.

Camping in the Sam Houston national forest on Lake Conroe - it’s beautiful. It’s about nature at this park. No playground for the kids.

This was our first campout in our new travel trailer. We are learning as we go! Had no problem with hookups!
The site was quiet and pleasant, clean too. Campers around us were quiet through the night. The camp host was friendly when he greeted us. Note : We had weak to no cell service (ATT)
We do plan to return to Cagle again someday.

We are rv’ers with a travel trailer. My only complaint is we did not know there is normally NOT a person in the front booth and there was no guidance on how to check in. But we learned if you have reservations, just proceed to your site. The camp host will later meet you and give you a park pass for your car. The site was clean and quiet with full hookups.

Great place to get away. Well maintained camp sites, full hookups, trails, lake access.

East Texas pine forest at its finest. Very well laid out boat launch. Conroe within 25 minutes. We enjoyed being there.

The Cagle Recreation Area campground is very nice. Bathrooms were well kept but are showing a little age It was quiet and a clean campground with easy access to Lake Conroe or hiking the Lone Star Trail, if you want that. Cell service (AT&T) was virtually non-existent, which is OK. I stayed two evenings in February 2021.
