My family and I have stayed at Cagle on 5 different occasions and we absolutely love the place. Clean, quiet, on the water and only 60 miles from home. Makes for a nice weekend with nature and good people. We will be returning.

They have the best group of camp hosts I have ever run across. So friendly and helpful. Kudos to the camp hosts.

Campsites are clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were adequate. Nearby destinations nearby include Honeys Biscuits in the town of New Waverly, as well as the Veterans Museum, the Prison Museum, Sam Houston Museum, and the Sam Houston statue in Huntsville. The Lone Star Hiking Trail is accessible near the campgrounds. Cagle is also a great place just to relax and enjoy nature!

Great to have sewer connection. Campsites were well laid out. One problem was they allowed people to park where ever and that made it difficult for me and at least one other camper to back a camp trailor in.

We have been coming to this park for many years and we find this park wonderful. We have large sites and the park is beautiful. The fishing is good and you could not have better hosts to take care of your problems, if you have any.My only complaint would be the turn in at the entrance of the park. The sign is hard to see if you are going West because of the afternoon sun. Also if it is raining or the weather is bad you cannot see the sign. The left turn into the park can be very dangerous because of the speeders behind you that do not see your left blinkers going. The sigb needs to be bigger or make a left turn lane. It sure would help. Thank you

Very nice park with full hook ups and large sites. Only negative to me was that it's practically in town and surrounded by neighborhoods. It's big enough that you don't really feel like you're "in town".

Bathrooms were nasty. They need to be cleaned everyday. 4 days there & I saw them cleaned once, the day I left.

Clean, peaceful, great hosts (Steve & his spouse) - Decided to stay extra night and am coming back this week for another stay for one of my daughter's birthday.

In the small loop at Cagle....Host has a dog that is loud and yaps half the day, everyday. They spend two days cutting the dead pine needles. They will do the same area two or three times kicking up dust and giving you a attitude if you ask them to not do your area while you're sitting out. Park supervisor will explain thier just doing thier job, nothing will change. I have read other complaints about the same problem three years ago. There is nothing here but the lake, so if you have a boat with you, you're good to go.

If you are into hiking this s a destination for you. Hiking trails in the park and in Sam Houston National Forest offer something for everyone from beginner to the ambitious. Lake Conroe offers fishing, boating and for those with courage kayaking and canoeing. We are from northwest Oklahoma, on our first paddle we encountered our first freshwater alligator. For us that was the end of the water experience, but for the locals it didnt seam like a big deal. So enter at your own risk. Beautiful camp sites with full hookups, cant get any better. If we were closer it would be a preferred destination.

The campsite was very well kept, we stayed on Sweetgum loop spot 05, the place is beautiful and clean, even at the height of summer the campground is nice and cool because of all the trees, pines and vegetation, definitely will be back.

Bring your hammocks! Very peaceful, relaxing spot. Make sure you have your levelers. The sights are not even close to being level, but there is plenty of room between sites.

Our camping experience was very nice and comfortable. The campsite was clean as well as the the restroom facilities. Hiking trails were well laid out. We enjoyed our stay very much. Only thing we missed was a fishing pier close by our campsite to fish off of. That would have made our stay perfect.

We had a great stay at Cagle. We visit Cagle frequently because of its proximity to where we live and enjoy staying in the national forest. It is usually very quiet especially during the weekdays.
