Park with boat ramp, bathrooms, full hookup for RVs in the National Forest near trailheads for Lonestar Trail. Mens shower out of order.

Lee, usually a stickler for rules, decided not to enforce them or confront the neighboring campers. Their sitelimited to 8 people, 2 tents, and 2 carshad 14 people, 4 tents, and 4 cars. They drank hard alcohol nonstop (alcohol banned), while their kids ran wild through nearby sites with no parental supervision. One woman smoked openly in the bathroom (while wearing a mask, ironically).After I complained to Lee at 10 PM, he only asked them to quiet down, then retreated to his camper. Fed up, we packed our tent in the dark and left with our two kids.

Lee, who for years has been always a stickers for rules decided he didnt care, or didnt want to confront the campers next to us. The site that had a limit of 8 people, 2 tents and 2 cars, hosted 14 people, 4 tents, 4 cars. They drank hard alcohol non stop (this is a no alcohol allowed camp) while their children ran thru sorounding campsites without a care from their parents. One of the females freely smoked in bathroom, good thing she was wearing a mask thou, she cares about her health apperanly.

Site was not even close to level. Both Tmobile and AT&T had very spotty internet service. Pretty area. Lake users were very loud though.

Had a wonderful time right on the lake. Our site was a little sloped front to back but nothing that we couldn't adjust. Will definitely go back.

We always loved the campground at Cagle and we enjoyed our stay this time as well.However, the ladies bathroom was not acceptable this time. The faucet in the sink didn't stay on at all when pressing and it was impossible to use both hands to wash your face and keep the water running at the same time. When pressing the tap, the water shot out and sprayed in all directions.

The camp hosts was very cordial and helpful. They kept the sites and the bathrooms very clean. Would definitely come back again.

Beautiful campground, large sites with FHU. Great time with friends for NYE. Close enough to Huntsville/Willis that you can run out, if needed.

Debbie and Christy were great host and delightful to visit with. They made our visit Pleasant. They made sure that we had information and checked on us periodically . Campgrounds was immaculate and quiet. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in camping. Will be coming back to visit soon.

The campsite was very nice, although other campers cut through it more than once to access the walking path. It is right next to the bathroom, so only a short walk. The bathrooms are very stuffy. There is a tent pad at this site, but it needs some leveling done because it is sloped and uneven. When the camp host came to bring us our parking pass, she launched into a politically charged conversation within the first few minutes of talking to her. I found it to be highly inappropriate, as she wrongly assumed we had the same beliefs as her. Representing Forest Service property, I felt she should not be throwing her views out to campers. I sure didn't want to hear that mess, but there was no polite way to let her know we didn't agree. I felt like saying something would have made it uncomfortable for us to stay there.

Park is kept very clean, and park hosts are very friendly & helpful. Beautiful , large campsites, with full hookups--what a joy to camp here!

A beautiful, clean campground on the shores of Lake Conroe. Site was level and large. There is plenty of space between sites so while there is a lovely tree canopy there is open sight lines between neighbours, but spacing makes it not an issue. I was in site #35 which many other campers commented was "the best site" and I agree. There is a walking loop around the exterior of the camping loops that makes for an enjoyable stroll. The only negative I have is to watch your step around the camping pad. The driveway is quite high resulting in a step down onto the campsite. All in all a wonderful stay.

Was here for Christmas '22, unfortunately the weather and water issues closed the park down but we were reimbursed. Glad we had a least some time. Cagel is always so clean and relaxing. I love that the host is available only if you need them. It is a wonderful place to unwind. We thought about going to a coldspring park and it does not compare to Cagel.
