We go as much as we can, we call it our home away from home. Very clean shower and restroom ,very quite and clean all over. We enjoy it all seasons around.

Rough start with electrical issues. We moved twice and ended up having to use all our propane in our generator to get through the first night without burning up. It is a nice area however they need to work on the electrical issues.

Very spacious campsites. We were at a site with water and electricity for our trailer. We use Starlink and were able to find a break in the trees to connect easily to internet. The bathrooms were clean. Lots of walking trails to walk the dogs. Would love to come back for a longer stay in the FALL. The weather was perfect. Warmish during the day and cool at night, but not so cold you couldn't sit out by a campfire. Staff was friendly.

Quiet, clean restroom/showers, good spacing of sites. Sites could stand renewal of parking surfaces- old pavement broken up by tree roots pretty bed. Site was still better than some others we have stayed at before. Overall very workable.

We were here 32 years ago. Just returned this year. Beautiful camping location. Some sites with water hookups have connections that are far away. Our faucet leaked so we just operated with our fresh tank. Great hiking trails. All the RV sites are back from lake. Only tent camping next to water. It would be nice if some RV sites were on the water. I will come here again.

Great campground. Wish some of the Electric and water site were closer to the water.

Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area is a nice place to camp. Each site is spacious and spread apart from the others giving everyone nice privacy. Everything is kept extremely clean. The staff was even there cleaning the bathrooms and showers on Easter. I don't know if it was just a bad 4 days but the only bad thing I have to say about my experience was that the fishing was not good at all. There was about 10 to 15 people fishing all at once one of the 4 days I was there and none of us got a single bite. If I remember reading correctly, this lake is stocked. Well if that is true, I would request that the lake be stocked more often. Other than that, I would strongly suggest camping at Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area.

the campground was immaculate. the crew takes really good care of the area. i'm from chicago, and i was quite surprised to find pine and oak forests in texas. it was un-expected and very nice - remininscent of the northwoods in wisconsin.

I have camped for 40 years in private, state, and national campgrounds. Ratcliff was a wonderful surprise. It was small, out of the way, quiet, peaceful, affordable. Lots are spacious, and the staff were friendly, informative, and engaged. It was well supervised, generally clean (bathrooms, only moderately so), and beautiful.

Great hiking area. Wish the sites had better surfaces for the RVs.

Very nice escape from the city (Houston). Multiple hiking trails nearby with two located on the campgrounds. Very pleased with campsite space between neighbors on Dogwood Loop. Very quiet campground and lots of trees making each campsite shaded very well. This campground is making it on our campsite return list. Also, noticed cleaning crews cleaning restroom/shower facilities multiple times a day and they had log sheets. Gives peace of mind for those concerned about COVID or overall cleanliness of their public restroom/shower facilities. They're older facilities but clean. Hot water wasn't very hot when my son took a shower around 6pm, but it could be because it ran out of hot water.

Cannot speak for tent sites.

This is one of the most beautiful places that we have RV camped in the great state of Texas! I am mobility challenged and found this campground to be OK. The day use areas are great for the mobility challenged. The traisl are not very ADA friendly. The ADA campsites have a lot to be desired. All of the above is pretty much inline with most public campgrounds so plesae dont let it stop you from getting out and experencing this great campground because this is one of the best campgounds I have been to in Texas. I have viddo of this great campground on my YouTube at DudeRV.com

Nice site. Clean and plenty of room around our camper. Very quiet and peaceful. Has lots of places to walk/hike. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so we didn't get a chance to hike them. We will try to go back in the future.

We camp at Ratcliff Recreation Area once or twice each year and really love October. The trails are a wonderful experience and full of nature scenes. I wish for more places to just sit and absorb the area, but that might destroy some of the natural feel.We look forward to each visit with yearning for the peace and tranquility.
