Really enjoyed our time here in late February. Weather was beautiful. Sites are nice and spread apart. The tall trees are amazing and seem to be maintained to take down dead ones. I enjoyed the bike trails on my E mountain bike, and my wife was able to ride some of the trails on hers. But most of the trails are bumpy and rooted and she was not comfortable on those. Our site -38- was great except it was not level. I had the front jacked up high and still was not able to get our 38 footer completely level, but there are other sites that look better. Overall, I recommend it for a quiet retreat.

What a gorgeous recreational area. A true hidden gem in the piney woods. We loved the distance between RV campsites and the spacious area around the site. Although we didn't use the on site bath facilities, we did peek in and they were extremely clean and well maintained. Looking forward to our next trip!

Nice and peaceful time. Been coming since the 1960s. 3 generations. Only complaint is we didn't see a Host this time.

Site 38 unlevel side to side & front to back. Shower/restroom well cared for. Steady electric & water systems. Stayed after a business conference in E. TX & will probably stay again if necessity occurs. TX7 traffic niloide until just after sunset.

As always, a great place to stay for several days. Wonderful people, lots of trees and, most importantly, an abundance of space between camp sites.

Very scenic area with spacious campsites under the tall pine trees. Bathrooms are rustic and sparsely furnished with no paper towels or hand soap. Expect the campground to be smoky at night because everyone seems to think that they must have a campfire each night, even when the temps are in the mid 80s during the day. It was fairly quiet even though the highway is nearby. We visited the Texas Forestry Museum in Lufkin and the Stephen F. Austin Experimental Forest near Nacogdoches. The museum is small but very well done and has great activities for kids both inside and outside. We hiked on the forest trail system and really enjoyed the solitude.

Love this Campground with the lake and many trails and forest roads to travel. Very relaxing time whenever we visit this park. When we were here this time though, the RV area had A LOT of tent campers. The tent campers next to use had 4 tents and actually spaces themselves out to the point they encroached on our spot coming within 20 feet of our trailer and being about 100 feet from there vehicle pull in spot, table and firepit. There were about 10 RV's that pulled in, drove around looking for a spot and then leaving. When we walked the park we noticed the tent areas were practically empty. RVers aren't allowed into tent areas but tenters are allowed in RV areas! That should work both ways!

The facilities were all so clean and we almost had the park to ourselves. Of course in East Texas in August it was hot but we enjoyed taking our three granddaughters camping for the youngest ones first camping trip. She loved playing in the sand at the camp and had a good time making roast marshmallows. The older girls enjoyed riding bikes and going up and down the hills. The little play area was a big hit with them all. We only stayed one night but we had a great time.
