I stayed here in part just for pleasure and in part for a Uwharrie Jeep Jamboree. My campsite (#16) was clean and well-maintained, with bathrooms, showers, trash, and water all conveniently nearby. There was a nice little path from the back of my site that led to a trail along the lake side, very pleasant. Facilities were a a little worn (a few missing tiles in the shower, that kind of thing) but worked fine and were cleaned/stocked regularly during the week I was there. The tree cover at my site blocked direct sun from the tent/parking areas during the early morning and late afternoon, but was clear in the middle so the late morning/early afternoon light was unobstructed - I was able to set up a solar panel and get around 4 hours of good charging time on sunny days. The trees also provided a little bit of privacy with the neighboring sites. Minor detail but nice was that the gravel in the tend pad area was on the smaller/finer side, so I could go barefoot inside my tent in reasonable comfort. I'd definitely consider staying here again on future Uwharrie visits.

Loved this area! Our campground host was great. The bathrooms were decently clean (missing a few tiles in the showers and you'll be sharing the space with a few creepy crawlies) and there are multiple water spouts for drinking. The waterfront site we stayed at was lovely and semi private with a direct path to the water. Lots of different trail options, each site has a picnic table, firepit, pole, and dedicated tent area. Sunsets/rises are gorgeous on the water, looks like a good place to paddle as well.

Beautiful campsite on Badin Lake.No electric but water, toilets and showers.Level campsite with table and grill.Fishing was super.Host(Krystal) was very nice and helpful.

Roads are dusty and difficult with several miles unpaved.
Campsites clean and our view was great.
Lake is convenient, but hard to fish from shore.
I was told it is crowded after the ATV trails open in April.

Campgound is very good with all basic facilities. There is a short path to a great water view. Unfortunately there were two large yellow jacket colonies in the tree roots. So after seeing that I avoided there. Recommend carefully getting rid of those critters, one colony looked like they could have been 'murder hornets'. The Swim area is small, unmarked and completely undeveloped; wouldn't take much to make it better, couple loads of sand, etc. It's a nice National Forest but improvements regarding access to Badin Lake would be welcome.

Great lake access on many sites! There was plenty of trees separating the sites. I appreciated the clean showers/restrooms .

Nice campground in the woods. Camp host was friendly and helpful. Good access to the lake. Very pretty.
