We recently visited Davidson River Campground for the second time. We stay in the Dogwood loop and use a site with electricity. We camped with 4 other couples. I love the loop because we were able to all be in sites close together. my only complaint , and I think this will be rectified, one bathroom on the loop was clean and the other was not. It had cobwebs all over and was obviously not well maintained. I think all the bathrooms will be renovated soon so I expect that will be taken care of in the future. There are potable water faucets all around the loop which is great for tenters and those who don't carry their own water supply. There is a lot to see and do that's pretty close by. The town of Brevard is definitly worth visiting. We have visited Pretty Place, there are many waterfalls including Sliding Rocks where you can actually slide down big boulders, Pisgah Inn that has a lovely restaurant and a fabulous view plus lots more. Young children seemed to love biking around the paved loop in the campground or visiting the river where there is a swimming hole. We are seniors and like the half price discount with our Golden Age Passport gives us. There are lots of tenters and many self-contained RVs. Many folks set up tents over the picnic tables for sheltered eating.

Great location especially if you like walking and mountain scenery. Lots of trails nearby and in the campground.

Great destination for family and friends camping. Extra activities within short driving distances from the campground. Young children love riding bicycles, older kids love the river and its swimming and tubing, and older adults just enjoy the quietness and laziness of a good vacation.

This was our fourth of five years in coming to Davidson river in the last two weeks of April. We love the Spring beauty, the flowing water, wooded mountains. We come for the great outdoor activities. The campground is spacious, well planned and the river setting is spectacular.
The staff provide helpful friendly service. The grounds are mostly clean without trash. The older bathrooms and showers need to be updated. This is a special place and we hope that the Forest Service will use some more resources to maintain and improve Davidson River National Forest Campground.

This is a beautiful campground. It is a great base location for hiking and biking or driving to see the sites in the Pisgah forest. Just note that there are not water hook ups in the campsites. If you are coming in an RV, you need to fill your tank at the water station at the campground entrance.

Great campground with really helpful volunteers. Moved twice to get electric site and only wish there were more electric campsites. Campground is very convenient to waterfalls so very busy with campers. In all I was very happy with stay there.

Reserved for two nights at Davidson River. Left after one. Unfortunately, another 'guest' rolled in at 1:30 am. Made tremendous noise, set up a generator which he was not supposed to, and left at 6:00 am. He likely did not have a reservation and simply used it like a Walmart parking lot. There is no evaluation of reservations at the site. No personnel to make sure the RV area is being used appropriately.

Love this campground and the whole area. Fly fishing available right at campground, breweries and restaurants so close, the views are amazing. We have been here many times amd will be back

Great campsite and exceptional staff. Heavy rains damaged many areas and closed nearby Sliding Rock...the main purpose of our trip. If we had known so many areas were damaged and shut down, we would have changed our travel dates or destination.

Wonderful area for tent camping, RV’s , hiking trails near and on the campground area, biking, brewery visiting and can take trail to greenway leading to town. Some campsites offer more shade than others but honestly almost all are good sites.
Bathhouses are nearby all the campsites. Bathhouses were cleaned regularly and shower was hot. What more could you ask for!

Davidson River never let's us down. This is our second year coming up from Florida and we plan to keep coming back every year. The campground is peaceful and family friendly. The fishing, tubing, and swimming is great. Only downside was alot of trees in our loop were cut down and wasnt aware of before hand to be prepared with more shade.
