Definitely my new favorite campground. Very clean, private bathrooms and showers in the bathhouse. Very close to a large number of trails and only a short trip further to Dupont, Gorges and the BRP. We also enjoyed the trailheads from the campground. The location made it easy to grab food and ice from nearby Brevard. We are on Verizon and found it possible to text from our campsite to get weather updates as there is not a WiFi spot in the campground. The Pisgah Visitors Center across the road has an excellent gift shop and information available on trail conditions.

I've had good experiences the few times I've camped at Davidson, it's a nice spot I'd like to come back to, though, ten years ago the campground was much quieter, (I'll get to that in a minute). The camp sight was fairly clean, (lots of small bits of plastic and trash), bathhouses were very clean- the staff did a great job keeping up with that. The campground hasn't changed much at all except for the River's, August '21, Hurricane Fred flood damage and some renovation to the bathhouse closest to me. The staff was also friendly and helpful. In terms of the noise- I'm not sure if it's just a matter of how people have changed in general, (more short sighted, selfish, oblivious, narcissistic), or the type of people that have been finding Davidson River, but I found the constant yelling and loud yammering from adults, (adult babies) and children passing by on the loop roads, while biking or walking, etc., pretty disturbing. (Of course I understand kids should be able to have fun and freedom, especially when camping, but no one seemed to care how much noise they where making). Fortunately most are quiet by 10 or 11pm, but there were more oblivious chuckleheads wandering over to the bathhouse, with high powered LED lights, yakking it up past 11pm than what I think is reasonable and acceptable. It shouldn't happen at all but I guess we have to lower the bar for the seas of spoiled, clueless people these days?I spoke to a staff member upon leaving, about the noise and she and her colleague agreed with what I said about the way people are these days but basically cut me off when I made a very gentle suggestion about trying to do something about it. I had thought a third flier reminding people to be respectful of the peace and quiet during the day, and maybe a reminder to not let the heavy metal bathhouse doors to slam shut all day and night, to be included with the two you get upon check-in was more than reasonable. But I didn't get a chance to make that recommendation.

Enjoyed our stay at the campground. Our site was quiet and relatively private. This is not necessarily the case at all sites. Given the weather and number of campers, facilities were relatively clean.

It is a wonderful place to bring the kids. Wish that the fishermen would avoid fishing in the swimming hole. The water was very cold but refreshing on a hot day. The swimming hole is actually deep enough to swim.

I would have given the campground 5 stars if the facilities had been in good working order. The Showers on Hemlock loop did not drain properly. If fact one of the shower rooms had water fill up the room and flow out the door. Also, I would have been appreciated an electrical outlet for a hairdryer in the restroom or even outside under cover. Wet hair on a cold day is quite uncomfortable.

Wonderful campground! We did not have a site with electric, but that didn’t matter. We camped for 2 nights. Enjoyed walking by the river. Be sure to continue the drive up the mountain. There is a fish hatchery and a wonderful waterfall to explore!

There were very high winds my first night there on 11/2/2020. Lots of downed limbs and a tree that blocked access in and out. It was cleared up ASAP and site management did a thorough clean up. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great experience!
