The campsites that back up to the river and the trail are incredible. Also, I have never seen a bathhouse so clean and consistently serviced. Amazing! Friendly staff. Amazing facilities. I highly recommend it. Hot water and reasonable quiet hours.

Natural surrounds make this campground special. The River and Mountains are great. Bears can be an issue so be safe and store food and garbage well.

Staying in a national forest like this is top notch. It’s like being a kid in the candy store with access to amazing nearby waterfalls and the Blue Ridge Parkway and if you are feeling ambitious enough, the Smoky Mountains. A terrific trip. Highly recommended. Just make sure you have a weather radio, and protection for you and your shelter against the rain and wind. Also, if you are tent camping, make sure you have a backup plan in case the weather becomes unsafe for staying in the tent.

The bathrooms needed more upkeep (out of TP), and the enforcement of quiet time was non-existent.

We love camping at the Davidson River Campground. The memories we have created there are priceless. The Staff is always very welcoming and helpful. There is so much to do right around the campground as well. We'll be back many times.
