Pretty scenery and well kept campsites. Just plan ahead, the bathroom(s) in Dogwood loop still use an older style push button shower, so you have to keep pressing the button every 5 to 10 seconds for the water to keep running, and there are no heaters in the shower area.

We had a site with electricity, which is a big plus. The campsite was maintained well and there were no issues. We appreciated the mowing between sites to eliminate briars and poison ivy. Since our friends occupied 4 additional sites in our loop, we could easily see and access their sites while having ample space between us. The only thing I would suggest is to have the fire ring a little further from the camper and picnic table as our awning would have extended too close to the heat.

Love this campground. It's quiet, in the woods, and close to Asheville, Brevard, and a whole lot of nature. The staff working the gates and grounds were awesome, helpful, and downright friendly. Headed back again soon.

We always like going to Davidson River, it's a nice park. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our only wish is that there be more electric sites. Oh, and that we could pick our neighbors.

You would obviously do better with a larger budget but given your constraints, you do an excellent job.

Nice retreat during a mild weekIn February. It was a great opportunity to get acquainted with our new camper. Always enjoy the flat and spacious sites at the Davidson River Campground.

This is a beautiful campsite and the staff is very helpful. It would be good if they had a larger budget.

The campground host seemed nice when driving around offering firewood for sale but his blaring music from 7pm to 11pm was disturbing. I'm not sure who's responsible for cleaning the bathrooms but they were filthy most of the time. Other than this we love the area.

There are only 3 loops open here in winter, the 3 ugly ones. Extremely run-down, downed trees left to rot, weeds. Very little foliage between sites. The other loops are very nice but most of their sites have no power. There are only two restrooms open to serve the 3 open loops. And they don't get cleaned -- we were there 5 days and the restroom that was serving two of the loops was cleaned one time. It's a mountain bike mecca and there was mess of mud/leaves on the floor. Also a slimy mess in the sink. The toilet paper also ran out and was not replaced for a (very long) day.We left 3 days early. Didn't want to catch any diseases from the filthy filthy restrooms. This place needs a make-over in the worst way. Simply a disgusting experience.
