I like the walking path to the brewery although there isn't much shade along the way.I like hearing the river during the night and listening for owls. There was a raccoon that jumped onto the picnic table but I always totally clear my foodstuffs when finished so a clap of hands scared it off.

The location of the campground is amazing. But having camped here for many years, the condition & cleanliness of the bathrooms has significantly deteriorated over the past 4-5 years. Additionally, the camp sites are more overgrown with poison ivy & weeds so your usable space is reduced. Lastly, the is zero WiFi anywhere (the overflow parking lot WiFi NEVER works). They blame it on Comporium (the internet provider), but other local businesses have excellent service from them. Its 2023 to have not invested in a decent WiFi network for the campground at this point is piss poor & out of touch with camping needs. You cant even pull a weather report to know when serious weather is approaching. The Davidson River & Pisgah National Forest are absolutely beautiful. We can only hope those running the campground will bring it up to a better level these amazing natural resources deserve.

The campground is in a great location; secluded, but close to shopping, dining, and attractions (Blueridge Parkway). The campground is well laid out and very shady. The campground has several "hosts", at least one for each loop. Many of the host campsites are very cluttered - making it appear like transients camping in the woods. Something we are not accustomed to seeing in National Park campgrounds. The bathhouse in our loop is poorly maintained. It was cleaned daily but a number of maintenance items were never addressed during our entire week's stay. The hand dryer didn't function and one of the sink faucets ran all the time. The doors to the restroom and shower area are so rusted you have to use some muscle to get them open/closed to latch securely. The other bathhouses in other loops were similar in lack of maintenance, lights out, and toilet stall hardware not working. I'm not trying to be nick-picking, but we have stayed at numerous National Parks campgrounds and as beautiful as the area is, this campground is like a slum.

Clean campsite, and you could hear the river from where we were. Even though there were people around us there was enough brush and trees to make it feel more secluded. We love it here, well definitely be back

Everything was beautiful, we had a great spot, the wildlife was very neat to see, showers had great water pressure and was hot, even though it rained hard we didnt mind it made tubing down the river more exciting:) This will be our back to school trip ever year! Best part was No Cell Phone Reception :)

The staff was great, what there was of it. The Campground "Host" sign should read Campground "Ghost". Bathrooms are old, dirty, wore out and sometimes not cleaned until afternoon. They need a major overhaul or replacement. After a severe storm it was up to the campers to clear campsite and roads. No park personnel showed up until the following day. A lot of campsites need attention

The facility was extremely clean, neat and well-maintained. The sites are nicely spaced and easy to access. The hiking trails and access to the river makes this a great place to enjoy the outdoors.

Camp hosts were very nice to deal with. RV pads were a bit narrow but easily accommodated our 24 foot Class C. Sites were well set up with pads for tents and RVs. Restricted hours for noise made for great sleeping. Great trails for walking, hiking. Very convenient location near town.

As always, enjoyed our time a great deal. Little disappointed the white pine has not been cleaned up yet. Other then that itโ€™s still the best campground in WNC.

First Come first serve sites are not available this summer, just FYI! Lucky for us, the host suggested we head back to the head of the forest whereWiFi was available so we could select a site on rec.gov. Fortunately there were 4 sites left (This was on a Tues, early Aug). Beautiful site near well-cleaned bathrooms, with a swimming area in the Riverbend section. It's a big site, but lots of families so the quiet hours were well-maintained. Great camping experience!

The trees have been butchered in the Appletree and Dogwood loops. Horrible sight.
