Prior campers had moved the picnic table to the middle of the tent pad. Whatever checks the staff make (any?) between campers, they should not have left it like that. And FYI, there are two hours between check out and check in.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice campground, especially for families. Bathrooms old and difficult to maintain clean, but generally well kept. Lots of activities available: tubing, fishing, hiking, biking. Ranger station nearby. Most campsites offer privacy with lots of foliage cover.

Davidson River campground is a favorite, for the proximity to mountain biking and the town of Brevard.

Our site was on a "loop" very near the entrance to the campgrounds and we could hear highway traffic; I would recommend selecting a site further from the campground entrance. We had booked 3 nights but it poured rain from the minute we arrived. Our loop was near the Davidson River and there were warnings about flash floods posted. We ended up leaving after a day and a half. The tent site itself was okay, fairly close to others, bathrooms adequate. Because of the non-stop rain, we really didn't get to hike or see much of the park.

We camped in apple tree loop and had a great time. Lots of wild life to see. Hosts in all the loops were helpful to us as we had a problem with our refrig. BUT our son got it going for us. We have been camping here since the park opened when roads were dirt. Love this park! Lots of found memories made here.

Several campsites exceeded number of people and vehicles allowed creating much noise for neighboring sites. I was there 5 days and so no signs of Park staff/rangers.
Open area had not been mowed either.

Great campground. Lots of hiking trails and beautiful sightseeing in the area. A lot of trees have been cut down in the campground, so not quite as pretty as it used to be.
