We have always enjoyed camping at Davidson River. The staff and volunteers do an amazing job and are always helpful and friendly. We were very impressed with how much has been done to repair and restore the area after the storm damage from last year. There is still a lot to be done but it looks much better than many other areas that suffered storm damage. The 'Bear Boxes' (for food storage) in the camp sites was an very nice addition. Hopefully the Fish Hatchery will eventually be repaired and return to operation, and the river will again have the fish that we remember it having. We look forward to camping there again.

Our 2 nights in Davidson River Campground were amazing. I mean, it rained the ENTIRE time we were there, but we had the necessary rain gear and it was not a problem. We had been backcountry camping the previous 4 days, so having flushable toilets and hot water in the shower - we felt like we were living like royalty. It's a pretty large campground and we went the week before Memorial Day weekend, so it was very quiet and sparsely populated. We had 2 tents and a hammock for our lodgings. What I didn't realize until much later was that you have to be in specific campsites to be able to use hammocks. Whoops. Oh well. The people working the entrance were very kind and helpful. The campsites are very wooded and have the typical picnic table, large tent pad (some can flood, ask me how I know), lantern hook and firepit. One thing you should know is that you have to make a reservation. There is currently no such thing as a "walk up" campsite. I have AT&T and I was able (with much patience) to make a reservation while sitting in my car just outside the campground. My husband has T-Mobile and had a terrible time finding a signal. FYI. Anyway, make a reservation before you go. The town of Brevard is about a mile or two down the road with plenty of internet access and civilization if you need a Walmart or if you just can't stand another hotdog or s'more -- lots of restaurants and other evidences of civilization. We did not go anywhere near the river, so I can't comment on that part of the amenities.

FromJerry. Been camping at Davidson River campground for 30 plus years and it never disappoints me. The sites are the best with most of them being shady and spaced to allow privacy. There are plenty of places to hike and ride your bikes. Waterfalls are everywhere, overall the best of the best.

Great time as usual. We love coming here. The area around the campground (Brevard) is great for car camping, with tons of stuff to do. Campground staff are welcoming and friendly. Note: You probably won't get cell service on the campground (that's a positive for us!) without some walking.

I enjoyed my visits to Davidson River. I would hope to be able to get a site with hookups some time in the future. I believe a number of hookup sites are being occupied by the same people all season based on my casual observations of them and their sites. Perhaps a better job could be done to assure that the same RV unit does not occupy a site for more than the 14 day limit so that others can enjoy sites with hookups at this property which is owned by ALL OF US??? Perhaps check in should include presenting a copy of the registration for the RV unit and a way to assure that the same unit does not occupy a site or a different site all season or in any event beyond the allowable window. I think folks are getting by the limits in some manner??? Thanks,
