This is the best campground-the sites are beautiful and private feeling and there is so much extra space for biking, playing frisbee, walking the dogs. Also love that is situated right along the water, plenty of fishing and swimming. Can't beat being in the middle of Pisgah.

This is probably our favorite campsite. It is a beautiful area, always well taken care of, and the staff is always friendly.

Could not pick a star rating - the system obviously does not work with an iPad! I would give it a 5 if I could

Use this campground mainly to Mountain Bike Pisgah mountains and the DuPont forest.

Since the Park Service contracted this and the white Pines area to an outside company it has been progressively getting worse. The place is filthy, we saw a guy walking through camp carrying an air pellet gun, we had some women tie her German shepherd outside the restroom so no one could get in. The gate was left unattended many times throughout the day. The Outhouse for white Pines was never cleaned and we were told it would be cleaned Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The same piece of nasty toilet paper we found when our group came in remained all week on the floor of the restroom, disgusting. Not impressed with how ragged the campsites look, and we watched the guy in the next site almost get killed with a limb falling off a dead tree, The limb was 8 inches around. Also heard a large tree crash and slide down the hill towards the campsite. Very sad at the state of the park. NOT impressed and surely not the standards the campground has been for all the years prior to this contract being put in place. Going somewhere else next year after camping in Davidson River for more than 42 years.

We enjoyed the privacy our lot provided. We also found that the town near by was very convenient Check in was efficient,
As when we left. Will return

Wow! Great campground with good size sites and friendly staff. While some of the sites aren't on the river side, they are still in scenic areas with access to trails and the water.
