Ive stayed here several times and the experience is always great. One of the only campgrounds that chose to keep trees and greenery between campsites. You feel like you are truly in the wilderness. One of the restroom stations wasnt cleaned on time like we expected but its busy season so we didnt complain, bring shower sandals just in case!

My family tent camps a few times a year. This trip started rough with a broke down car during the travel and then helping get a person oit of a flipped truck. We then fought a little rain during set up which wasnt to bad. Later in the week it turned into a down pour for the remaining days there flooding certain areas. No matter these issues we had a great time. Davidson River Campground is the best I have been to. Our spot was super wooded and a nice size. Our host was great and showers were clean and had great hot water. The area is wonderful also. Tubing and hiking in the campground and a few miles up the road they have Dollys Ice Cream and a few outdoor stores. A great place to stay!

In general a great place to camp with hiking/swimming and mountain biking next to campground. With one caveat, generators are allowed in some loops, yet I see no reference to which ones when reserving. We had the misfortune to be next to a site with a very loud one, the owner finally kicked out by the ranger (thank you ranger!) for running after hours.

This was our first stay, and we're already looking forward to our next. We were very happy with our site; Laurel loop is where well look when planning our next trip. Appletree and Dogwood loops lacked the tree cover I look for when tent camping - pines removed to manage root rot.The facilities were clean, the campground was quiet, and the staff was friendly. My wife and daughters only complaint: wanted to stay longer. We liked its proximity to Brevard. And we enjoyed Looking Glass and Sliding Rock falls which were just down the road as we made our way to the Blue Ridge Parkway for our trip home.

This has been one of the best campgrounds we have ever experienced. Our camping site was private, yet within walking distance to the restroom/showers. The restrooms/showers were daily cleaned and in excellent condition. We especially enjoyed the availability of the hiking trails and the stream for tubing and swimming. We will be back next summer.
