Site was clean, weather was hot on Monday, windy and much cooler on Tuesday. Fish weren't bighting. No kids in the river on Tuesday. Staff is always helpful.

Liked the campground and the spacious site. Had a lot of rain during our stay, so that put a damper on things. But love the proximity to the waterfalls and Brevard. Lots to do in this area and very easy to get to. Staff was very friendly.

Another great stay at Davidson River. Great location on the edge of Pisgah National Forest. Hiking/biking trails easily accessible right from the campground. Easy bike ride or walk into edge of town via the trail that parallels the river. Great vibe in campgrounds during fall. Employees all are very friendly, informative, and truly want everyone's stay to be the best it can be. Facilities, although dated in some areas of the grounds, are clean and functional. A lot of sites that back up to the forest received new bear boxes. Another positive. Aids in properly storing food/trash/scented items that bears/racoons may be out looking for. It's appreciated that anyone entering the grounds needs to pass through the main gate which is staffed during the days. This helps keep down the non-campers driving through just to look around. Less traffic the better. Most likely will return next fall.

We love the location of Davidson River campground, near waterfalls, great hikes, tubing, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the ranger station, the quaint town of Brevard, and Wal-Mart. The campground has many sites available with some space apart from other sites for some privacy. It is beautiful and wooded, and next to a small river, with a swimming hole. Before the park service sold the campground a few years ago to another company, it was impeccably maintained. It has gone a little downhill each time we've visited since then. On the Laurel loop, the men's bathroom hand dryer hasn't worked for 2 years. The tiles under the sink in the women's bath house are falling off, and one tile was lying on the floor all week. The water for showers was SCALDING hot this time (July 2022), and no way to regulate it. One of the water stations has not worked for at least 3 years now. The new company leaves the gates open and unattended from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., but they used to be closed to thru traffic all night. This makes me feel less safe. Someone pulled into the empty campsite beside us one night last week after 8 p.m., stayed for the night, and they left before 8 a.m. Since this was when no one was at the guardhouse, we were pretty sure they knew they could get a night for free. We will likely return, since it's been our favorite campground for 15 years, but we'll keep our eye on the condition, and see if it improves or not.

Campground was nice and quiet. Site was clean. I know these are trying times, but we were in a position and sites were available to secure a spot without having to pay an $8 online reservation fee. I resent having to pay this fee when it could have very easily been handled as any other NFS campsite - drive in, pick an unoccupied site, pay in a dropbox.

Campground is clean and taken care of quite well. Definitely gets busy during the tourist season. The showers are fantastic after a long day in Pisgah.

It was good... crowded, and noisy - but that's campground camping... overall a good experience though.

Everything thing was great except for the loud group of Boy Scouts that decided to set up camp at 10 o'clock at night! I thought this was a family campground not a campground for groups!
