This campground is in a great location. It is only about 100 yards from the Davidson River and only a short drive to downtown Brevard. My family and I had a great time!

I have been camping at Davidson River for over 30 years. I am not sure that after my recent 4 day camp trip in January 2020, I will ever go again. The camp host do nothing to monitor and curtail noisy late arrivals who play music and shout as if they were at a stadium event. My stay was cut short because at 11:47 PM on 01/29, a blue Chevy SUV slowly circled the Applewood and Sycamore loops, headlights on. The vehicle backed into every empty camping space, deliberately shining car lights on the tents and camping trailers to see what they could steal. I woke up because of the sound of the vehicle and the headlights streaming through my tent. I went outside to see what was going on. I shined a flashlight at the vehicle, which was filled with debris and clothing, so much so I couldn't even see the driver, who slowly drove away, but then parked several times at different empty camp sites in the two loops. Finally, I walked all the way over to the far side of Sycamore where the vehicle was parked, now with only parking lights on. I tried to shine a light on the license tag to call police. The vehicle drove away s-l-o-w-l-y. It took me hours to get back to sleep. So my next day's planned long bike ride was trashed. The next morning, the camp hosts were gone by 9 AM. I never got to tell them about the events of the night. So I am doing so now.

That was a beautiful CG. They have recently cut a lot of trees inside the CG because of some kind of root problem with white pines. The bad part is they left a lot of the downed trees. Then weeds and brush grew up around the downed trees because they can't mow. Looks like h*ll now. Our campsite was probably the worst one in the campground. They really need to clean up the cut timber and replant some trees for the future. I felt like we were camping in a cutover.

I have been going there for years. It is a great place to take children. Tubing is a lot of fun. Is very close to town and lots of activities in the forest. It is a very clean Campground. It's just a great place to camp.
