Thank you to the Davidson River Campground for cleaning up and opening the campground after the Hurricane damage. We had a great time as always and it was nice meeting camp host Heather who gave us some fishing tips. Looking forward to our next stay -

Not having water hook-up created a bit more work for me in keeping our water tank full. They do provide a spigots for well water on the campground loops, so bring a large container to keep your tank full. Cell phone signal was very spotty (4k with 1 bar on Verizon). Otherwise, it is a beautiful campground with clean restrooms. Watch your step on the North Slope hiking trail. My wife was bitten by a Copperhead snake the day of our arrival. Luckily it was a dry bite and so she quickly recovered.

Good campground location, but the bathrooms are not being maintained. The one in Sycamore wasnt as bad as the one in Dogwood loop. That one desperately needs to be redone and it was deplorable. No one was cleaning it, and they only had one out of the two bathrooms open so it was being heavily used. Folks Wood been coming there for years said that it is no longer being maintained properly since its been taken care of by a private entity. We also never saw anybody driving around checking campsites, in between people coming and going.

Campground: The staff at Davidson River CG was extremely nice and helpful. Almost too nice, you know, like there's something in the water. No complaints here though, they welcomed us warmly every time we entered and offered help when needed. Campground is well maintained and close to everything you would love about Brevard. It's right on the road that leads to most waterfalls and it's still close to the main road and town.Site 6 on Sycamore Loop: We thought this site was really great. It's easy to get into and has nice privacy on the camper door side. We arrived after dark and had absolutely no problem backing in and setting up in about 10 minutes. The site backs up right to the exercise trail and river. You can see the river from the site, but a 50' walk through the woods has you there. You can hear it as you sit around the fire. Go to the trail, turn right, and 100' down you are at the main entrance road and the head of the Art Loeb Trail. It's a great site. The bathhouse is right in the middle of the loop and, though it's only one seat and one shower, we didn't have to wait much and they were relatively clean. If we come back to Davidson River and we don't try to find a site with full hookups, site 6 on Sycamore we will look for this site.

Would be great if the campground had wifi coverage for campers. I stayed for 10 days and would have stayed for longer if I could have accessed internet for remote work capabilities. Other campgrounds I have stayed at place wifi antennas at the bathhouses to cover each area.

Great site, and so much to do, campground is clean, unfortunately they lost a lot of trees in some of the loops but still good space between the sites. Hiking and the MTB riding in the area it some of the best you get get.

Lovely campground adjacent to river. River was not quite deep enough to go tubing in. Bathhouse was clean. Wish the campground had some sites with sewage hookups, but they don’t.

Our maiden trip. Davidson was a beautiful location, had friendly and helpful staff, easy maneuverability (thank goodness), good facilities and great campers. Would like to return and spend more time to enjoy the surroundings.
