Great campgrounds! Great paved paths for young kids on bikes. We didnt have a lantern hook at this site 108, and I didnt see one at 107 either, but it was a nice and secluded spot. Saw quite a bit of poison ivy.

Campsite 108. We walked to the river multiple times to fish and play with my 9, 7, 5 year old. Went in early Sept and it was cool enough to sleep and warm enough during the day. Close to a few waterfalls (20 min away max). Saw a black bear 2 sites over! Will be back. I know there was a lot more trails and such to explore but honestly for first timers only staying 2 nights (on the way home on a road trip) there was enough to explore right nearby.

I chose this campground because of its central location and was not disappointed. I was able to access everything via bicycle using the paths and park roads. The absolute best thing though? The staff at the main booth; always friendly, helpful and smiling, went above and beyond to help you.

The Campground was so pretty & perfect for biking around with our granddaughter. We recommend a day at the Cradle of Forestry with its wonderful indoor exhibits and hiking trails. On the way back to the campground we stopped at Sliding Rock & Looking Glass Falls.

wonderful campground. my first time here was last September -- loved it so much that i told myself i'd come back. now that I've camped here twice, I can't stop thinking about picking up all my things and moving to Pisgah NF -- that way, I could come back to Davidson River all the time. i usually prefer dispersed camping -- but something about the vibe with this place just gets me. it's absolutely gorgeous and the individual campgrounds have pretty good privacy. you're not jammed up right against the campers next to you. that said, i love just walking around the campground and meeting folks. its a great way to spend an evening. 10/10 will be back next summer.

Davidson campgrounds offered showers when others didn't. I loved how far apart the campsites were from the other campsites and the beauty that surrounded the grounds. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you need extra food, supplies or gear, the nearest city is only a few minutes away. Sadly I was only passing through and only stayed one night so I did not get to experience the nearby trails. I plan to visit again with the intention of staying longer.

There was enough distance between camp sites (in my area) that I didn't feel we where on top of each other. Have to be careful as some sites had major tree removals and therefor more sunlight than normal. This site was an excellent place to camp and use as a base for hiking in the area. You are ~15 from the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you need supplies, Brevard is only a mile away and has stores you would need.
