This campground is excellent. Ive stayed here at least a dozen times. The facility is in excellent condition. The staff is friendly. Most of all sites are covered in tree canopy.

Five stars almost all the way. Campsites are pretty widely separated, with lots of brush and trees between sites. The pavement could use some maintenance, but it doesn't interfere with your enjoyment of the campground. The bathrooms could seriously use a facelift - everything worked, but it's starting to feel pretty dated and a little sub-standard compared to other USFS campgrounds. Still, it's one of my favorite campgrounds and one I'll return to as often as I can! Love that it's a generator free loop!Scenery: ANoise level: AFacilities: BOverall vibe: Very chillReturnability: A+

I absolutely LOVED this campground. This was my first time camping solo, and I had a major tent pitch malfunction when I first arrived. One of the camp staff members was SO helpful, didnt judge me when I was clearly overly distressed, and calmly walked me through how to fix my tent. I stayed at Davidson River in the Poplar Loop for 7 nights and felt completely safe. It was peaceful and beautiful, even with highly varying weather throughout the week. The hiking nearby is unbeatable. My nearby hikes included Cove Creek Falls, Toms Spring Falls, Caney Bottom Falls, Looking Glass Rock, Moore Cove Falls, and then from the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway: Art Loeb to Shining Rock, Skinny Dip Falls, Mt. Pisgah, Devils Courthouse, and Graveyard Fields. All of this was within a 45 minute drive from my campsite. Brevard is also extremely close if you need groceries or a little break from being outdoorsy. Hiking at the campground itself is great too, with one terminus of the Art Loeb connecting there as well as another forested trail and a cute riverside stroll into Brevard itself. Cant recommend this place enough!

Love the campsite we try to reserve every time we come. Beautiful, well maintained. Also am very appreciative of the showers with great water pressure and water temperature hot enough to enjoy after a hike.

I accidentally messed up my registration online and the folks at the campground were SO nice and helpful. I had a great stay, the facilities are really clean and the area is beautiful (and very convenient to nearby hikes). I would definitely stay here again, five stars to the amazing staff!

The campground was well-managed and cared for, as always. The campground has a very good proximity to many beautiful hiking trails, kayaking spots, and the city of Asheville (and surrounding towns). Be prepared to spend A LOT of money on wood - it was more expensive per day than the actual camping site!

Logging made a mess of the campground. It needs to be cleaned up. We were shocked when we arrived to find so many downed tree limbs on our site. Lots of weed eating needed in our loop. Will be back in September in different loop. We checked it out before we left. Hopefully, it will be ok when we return.
