The only criticism I have for Davidson and, by extension, all campgrounds with on-site firewood sales; is to tell the wood supplier to include some kindling and/or small stuff to get the fire started having kiln-fired wood is great and all but if the previous camper poured 5 gallons of water into the pit to douse it; the area around the campsite is sterile of anything resembling a fire starting medium.

Beautiful location! Loved the proximity to the river and to the Visitor Center across the road. There is so much to discover at Pisgah Nat'l Forest!
We were missing am electrical outlet at the restrooms, couldn't find any.

Great campground. Beautiful and quiet. The staff was incredibly helpful as well. We had booked a tent site by accident and needed a site for a camper. They found us a replacement that was perfect. We will definitely be going back!

Great place. The only thing is a little unorganized for late check uns and couldnt buy wood - which was easy too expensive $10 a bundle is a tad too much!

This was my second visit to this campground in the last month and the stay was just as nice. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Firewood for sale. Trout in the river. Mountain bike trails across the street. Deer on occasion walking around the park.Be on the lookout for the white squirrels!

We spent two nights at Hemlock site 132. Campsite and staff were great. Bathroom was horrible. Urinal was full of liquid entire time of our stay. Shower was horrible with missing ceramic tiles and floor was covered with small dead centipedes. Shower valve shut off every fifteen seconds.

Davidson River has not always been the friendliest place. However the last 3 times I went everyone from the people at the gatehouse to the campground hosts have been very nice. The lady at the gatehouse actually tells you to have fun!! I grew up camping at Davidson River riding bikes and spending time with family and friends. It never gets old. The rain might but such a lovely place.

Great location on the Davidson River. Conveniently located near waterfalls and sliding rock.
