Our site, 151, was a nice site. There is a tree in the front corner that we struggled a little bit with because our door is at the rear of our RV and we have a 20 awning. Other than that the site was great. It was very relaxing and peaceful. Bathrooms were cleaned every day. When you fill up on potable use a filter if you plan on drinking it. It had a horrible garden hose taste when I made coffee. Really enjoyed our stay and plan on coming back.

Great experience staying here. Super peaceful, beautiful area. Clean facilities, nice swimming area, close to lots of hikes and waterfalls.

Best campground weve ever tent-camped in. Lovely campsites, swimming and fishing onsite, so much to do in Pisgah forest and on blue ridge parkway! Favorite family vacation!!

We have been camping at Davidson River for the past 4-5 years and really love the location. Only gave the review 3 starts as the grounds need work (see addl comments below) and the current policies for re-entry need to be addressed. Specifically the restrooms are a disaster, my wife got "locked " in a shower as the handle did not work properly... we tend to stay in the same loop and this issue was present last year... To be fair they did send someone to fix it quite quickly but damage was already done. Additional issues were a leaky toilet (water was constantly leaking onto the seat) attracting Ants, and other insects. Shower floor was in need of repair, Campsite itself also needed attn, as the firepit was almost unusable to cook on. Cooking surface was bent, and the whole pit was raised up out of the ground, we actually went and purchased a small charcoal grill. The grounds in general seem to be lacking maintenance also. From having the grass cut to having the thorn bushes cut back on the main trails by the river. I am not expecting everything to be perfect, but the lack of attention to this potentially beautiful campground was painfully obvious. many items in disrepair and just really felt like no-one cared. As for the policies, current management apparently felt the need to disallow tagged/registered campers from re-entering at the gate. We were stacked up 5-6cars deep as they were checking someone in and would not allow anyone to pass. WHY? this really ticked me off as I was returning from an ICE run. As much as we love this location, we have definitely discussed looking for some alternatives for the next outing. One addl note>>> the BILO that was in the plaza at the entrance to Pisgah is closed, not sure if another grocery store will be forthcoming. You need to drive to the Ingles or the Food Lion closer to Brevard for anything you need as the Walmart has a VERY limited grocery section.

Campground is beautiful, trout fishing is out of this world, lots of hiking trails right at campground and all our favorite hikes right up the road.
