This is a great campground. Very clean restrooms and showers along with the sites. Overall very well taken care of.tye staff was super nice, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay there again.

We love Powhatan. Sites are nice and the staff is so friendly. The only issue I have is wireless service. I know this could be a blessing or a curse. But, with family and job obligations, I so wish cell service was available/better.

Love this campground as a place to get outside, ride bikes and feel like Im away from it all, though its convenient to all things Asheville has to offer.

Lake Powhatan is such a great location. The campsites are clean and well kept. Bath house very clean. Personnel are very friendly.

So love Powhatan! Good location and all staff very friendly. Easy access to NC Arboretum, Blue Ridge Parkway, restaurants and West Asheville. Have seen numerous improvements and cleaner than previous years. All work and improvements are noticeable.... THANK YOU FYI, very limited cell service and NO service at places. Would love to see a greater Internet service, especially due to work and family obligations..

Nice wooded private campsites. All the hosts were excellent! Lots of places to hike. Close to Ashville restaurants, groceries, etc. Plan to go again and stay longer.

Lake Powhatan is so much better than years past. It is cleaner and upkeep seems better than the last few years. It is so convenient to Arboretum, trails, grocery store and downtown Asheville. We love Lake Powhatan!
Cell/internet is spotty and no service at alot of sites. This is good and bad....due to family situations and job, so wish service was better. Could Internet/wifi be an option?
Also, checking reservation site, always shows most sites booked. We have always seen open sites as we have been camping, but reservation site says "reserved". Don't know if there is a way to address. Also, years ago, there was always a few spots available for "first come first serve". This would be such a good option for traveling thru or local people!

Everyone at this Campground who was extremely helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were very very clean and heated which was especially nice since the temperatures went down below freezing. We really liked our campsite as access to the lake was just a walk away.

Beautiful area. Trails directly behind campsite. Clean facilities if needed. Camp hosts are phenomenal. They communicate extremely well and routinely check sites for safety

This is the best campground ever. We truly enjoy coming here every time. Clean showers. Great staff. Will always come here for our camping.

Our reservation was from May 23-27. Site 46. Lakeside loop. This is our second visit to this beautiful place. We spent our time walking around the campground loops and down to the lake and back. Our site was paved, level and shaded. The nights were quiet, dark, and cool. The days were quiet, sunny and quite enjoyable.The bath house was in excellent shape each time we used it.There are many things to do and see in the Asheville area. If you have not visited Biltmore estate, it is worth seeing. The WNC Nature Center is a good choice. River trips and hiking and scenic drives are all possible in the area. A heads up, avoid I-26 toward Hendersonville, at all costs. It is under construction. Our navigation even told us to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway to find an Ingles Grocery store in Arden, from the campground. I thought it must be a mistake. 'Twas not.

We LOVE Lake Powhatan! It is close to shopping, food, grocery store, all the TRAILS! The current staff is friendly and welcoming. Parkway is close and so much to explore... would like for it to remain somewhat "unknown", as this is a JEWEL 💎
Now, if you need cell service, it is very hit and miss! May have to walk to get service, which is so not understandable considering how close to Asheville and the Airport!
