The guy at the check in booth at my checkin the night of May 29th was so nice explaining everything. Even offered to delivered the firewood I bought to my campsite as I was on a motorcycle. Just awesome !!

I truly enjoyed my campsite- it was private, quiet, with plenty of downed firewood to forage. I also got to see an incredible bioluminescent glow worm in the wild! Felt very special. The site and bathhouse were clean, water accessible, and the bear boxes were a great addition to a tent site! I'll definitely be back.

Nice campsites but it was party central on a Friday night. Our neighbors had late arriving friends and plenty of alcohol to fuel a loud late-night party (week past midnight). Never saw a call host or any other authorities pass through to enforce quiet hours. And our requests to quiet down their voices were completely ignored.
The Hard Times loop should be a tent only, no generator loop. There were lots of tents, and unfortunately, a few giant RV'S interspersed, that couldn't wait to turn on their generators at 8am and run them until 8pm.

Beautiful and hidden campground with easy access to Bent Creek and Lake Powhatan with some decent fishing.

Very well run. Best rest rooms we've seen compared to 6+ other state/national parks in NC that we have visited. Very clean. Good location - close to Asheville, but secluded enough that it feels like camping!
