The onsite staff were awesome. So sweet. The sites and bathrooms were clean. The beach was beautiful. The trail map is not very detailed so i suggest looking it up on alltrails before you come. Make sure to download there is no cell signal at the sites. But you can find one at the beach.

Very nice campground with plenty of space. Ample bathrooms and hot showers. My only reservation is the heaters in the bathrooms stay on all the time, so it's REALLY hot in there. Please add a thermostat to control.

We always enjoy our camping trips at Lake Powhatan. There are running/hiking/biking trails within the campground, and nearby. The lots are well maintained and private. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The NC Arboretum is right down the road, and Asheville is 15 minutes away.

Great campground! We brought our scout troop and booked a cluster of sites. It was lovely and perfectly close to all the things we wanted to do in Pisgah.

Friendly/helpful staff. Clean facilities. Caution: Some tent pad sites don't drain well (got flooded out with 3" standing water on #33 last week!)

Lake Powhatan is one of my favorite campgrounds in the Asheville area. It is close to town and just off the Parkway, the 2 places that I visit when in the area. It is always clean and quiet and the Hosts really make sure things are done right and your visit pleasant.

Site: 33 - Nicely located next to a short trail to the very well maintained and frequently disinfected bathroom/shower. The only thing we didn't like were the raised, concrete traffic barriers at the end of the driveway where our cars were parked. We work out of the back of our cars for food, water, and supplies. To get the cars closest and convenient to the site meant fussing with those barriers. We would have preferred a site without them - such as site: 31. But other than that our stay was just fine. No one was too loud, everyone was respectful and the weather was great. We knew there would be no cell/internet service so we downloaded movies and books on our iPads. At night we were happy to entertain ourselves with that technology after enjoying the night stars. Two adults camped in a tent with two dogs for 3 nights.
