I enjoy it at Pow' and I can see improvements to the sites. The cost has gone up enough that i cannot afford to go as much as before. Please. No more price increases! I look forward to trying to fish and be by the lake - I did not get to this time.

Very pleasant woman at the check-in/check-out booth. Shower was a little low pressure. Sites were flat, clean, quiet.

Beautiful park! Great staff at check in, very friendly and knowledgeable. About 20 minutes from the Biltmore, near the arboretum and outlets.

Loved the visit here. Bathrooms/showers are located in the middle of camp loops so very accessible. Very well-kept and clean bathrooms as well as HEATED (very nice for the February temperatures.) Attendant was very helpful and friendly. Sites are pretty private. Reviews said no cell service but got 2 bars with AT&T site 4. Back in was tricky with narrow road, but doable. Beautiful area with lots of woods and a lake. Swimming in the summer. Will be back, especially since its one of the few campgrounds open year-round in the area.

Would definitely camp here again . Private and spacious sights. Very convenient location for visiting Asheville. Clean and well kept.
We booked a site at the last minute as we were traveling through Ashville. As it turns out we booked one without water only electric. It turned out ok as a very clean bathhouse was right across the street. The issue was that there is no service to look for another site online at that point and frustrating that employees of the park can not help in that area. There were many empty sites by morning though when we called to check all we're booked. So the motto of my story is that there are several sites with only electric so pay attention to that. That being said the park was absolutely beautiful, the lake was lovely, bathrooms were clean and updated.
Our annual trip to Lake Powhatan was great. The sites in the campground are spread out enough to keep things quiet and private, and the mountain biking trails are incredible. We got some rain this year, so we spent a little time playing in Asheville, eating some incredible food and hanging out.
Very nice campground - some sites were bigger/nicer than others, but overall it was very nice. Bathrooms and showers were great. Staff was excellent. The only disappointment was that the lake was really a pond. We had hoped to do some paddling, but it wasn't open for that. Great campground for mountain or gravel bikes though - lots of trails accessible right from the the campground.

This is a large wooded campground in proximity to Asheville, NC. Our site was level with water close by and electric hookup. There is a nice beach for kids and kayaking or canoeing on the lake is nice.
Stayed in big John site 4. Very small site with fire pit and table very close to road. Other sites much deeper and better configured. Park office out of ice all week, fire wood 8 dollars for a very small bundle and power went out the night before leaving prompting us to get to early and head out. During one visit to lake we observed a family with cans of beer in all pockets and visibly drunk wrestling in the lake. One of the gentleman attempted to belly slam a goose. My kids were awe struck. Putting all this aside, trails were nice and things were relatively quiet and relaxing.
We really enjoyed the campground and found the facilities to be very clean.
