Great place that is very close to all the goods that are found in AVL and surrounding area. However, there should be a ban on smoking cogs in campsites as not everyone wants to smell that crap while camping. Especially around children! Its annoying!

Beautiful area to explore in and around Lake Powhatan. What stood out to us while staying at the campground was the friendliness of the staff there. Without exception, this was the friendliest most accommodating group of people Ive ever experienced at a campground. The facility was well managed and the bathrooms and bath houses were clean, clean , clean! Definitely would go back.

We went during the week. The bathroom and shower were cleaner than expected. The camp hosts were super nice. It was really nice having the trail heads near by. Zen tubing is right across the street. The campground isnt far from civilization. You can walk onto the NC Aboretum for free from the campground. Definitely booking again!

Nice enough campground tucked away on the edge of Asheville. Site was decent, though sites seemed a bit run down.

Older campground among nice trees roads are curvy. The bathrooms were clean, bathrooms are for one person either sex not mens or womens.

There's not much to dislike about this campground. The staff was friendly and helpful, the facilities were available and clean and the campsite itself was great with a decent amount of space between us and our neighbors. My only complaint would be the proximity to the Asheville Airport, the only reason we likely won't camp here again. But if you're looking for easy access to Asheville you can't beat it.

Excellent spot on Hardtimes Loop! Great location for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running. Plus easy access to the Blueridge Parkway and Asheville.Cell service is spotty, so be prepared for that.Due to COVID, the camp did not have ice or wood for sale, be sure to grab it on your way in. Most of the gas stations can take care of you. REI and Sportsman's Warehouse are only 15 minutes away for any forgotten or broken camp essentials.
