Very well-kept campground in a beautiful, quiet setting. Very clean restrooms. Nice hiking trail along the river that is kept clear of fallen trees. Dog-on-leash rule should be better enforced. Encountered three rather nasty dogs the first day.

We always enjoy our stay on the mountain where it's so much cooler!!! Peaceful and quiet. Only suggestion I have is to limit generators to 8 pm. Very annoying to listen to the loud rattling ones until 10 pm. The noise is heard throughout the loop.

We had a wonderful stay at this campground at two different sites! The place is quiet and beautiful. Some sites are not private, and some are. The open field area is very popular for families and big rigs. No power or cell signal so the experience is like being off grid. The hosts are friendly and helpful and they will deliver firewood to your site. Restrooms are kept very clean, although the shower pressure can be a bit low in some.Be advised that you will be in bear country and be very mindful of that. We had a bear open the door of our truck (we had forgotten to lock the doors) which had some snacks in it and do some significant damage to our vehicle. The windows were closed and the food was in a closed console, so we took precautions. The bear visited us at both of the sites we were camped in. This campground does not have bear boxes at this time. Be sure to take appropriate precautions with all food, the bears here are smart and very good at being bandits. If your car or truck has open loop door handles make sure to lock the doors at night. We look forward to going back despite the bear!

Great park!! We were on sites 12 and 13, it rained all week and it made it obvious that those sites could use some extra love. Need to fix drainage issues, put new gravel, and replace the concrete tables (so low to the ground my six foot husband couldn’t even sit at the table.

National parks are a great treasure and Standing Indian Campground is a gem of a place that allows visitors to have an intimate experience with one of the southeast’s most beautiful wildlands. But what made my visit most memorable was the kindness and professionalism of the staff and the quality of their work which was demonstrated by the organization and overall condition of the camp sites. I hope to be able to return someday. Those who live near the area are indeed lucky to be able to call it home.

Gerald and Judy are so welcoming and friendly. Love just chatting with them. Campground is clean, bathrooms are immaculate, and the river is refreshing.
