The park is always in always pretty nice to me. Still waiting on the beach area repair; however, you can access the water to fish and perhaps wade (I didn't do either). There is a lot of highway construction in the area so a lot of attention to traffic is required. Walked the trails which are asphalt and shaded. Usually try to make it to Flanners at least once a year and will continue.

I visit this campground each year in September as my home base as a Volunteer for the MS 150 Bike Fundraiser. I love the campground its locality to New Bern and you can't beat the price. Very quiet here too. My only complaint is the fire pits. As a veteran camper part of my enjoyment is our campfire. The replacement pits that were put in after Hurricane Floyd are an abomination. They are literally 3.5 feet of solid steel. You have to be 1.5 feet from the pit to actually see your fire. Not to mention that they are not cleaned out of a regular basis so there is 2 feet of soot and ash, other peoples burnt food and scraps piling up. The good news of this is if they don't clean them, you actually get to watch your fire. its just 3.5 off the ground. What is the point?

My only reason for 2 stars is that fact the beach is still closed, otherwise it would be 5 stars.Upon checking in we did not have the right converter plug. We were at site 8, had a 30 amp trailer but the power was 50amp. Went to the host and they immediately came to the site and brought us the correct plug. They were so helpful ! Park was clean, bathrooms were clean

This was my second time to stay at this campsite. I traveled down to visit my son who is currently station at Atlantic Beach in the USCG. The campsite is a perfect time away from the busy life. Quiet, clean and excellent camping experience.

Sites were clean and spaced out with lots of shade. Bathrooms were clean but showers are showing their age. There was hot water just need new paint. Beach is closed from hurricane. Path around campground is great for easy access for morning walks.

This little campground is wonderful but could be an absolute gem if the beach access was repaired and open for the public to safely enjoy. It has been almost 6 years since the damage from Hurricane Florence occurred. Why has the area not been repaired and opened? Surely there was disaster money available. Will it ever be restored?

Quiet, very pretty campground. Sites are well maintained. Many beautiful trails in the Croatan Forest to be enjoyed, even for the physically challenged. Can't wait to come back and enjoy them again.

Bathroom and shower were very cold. Didn't shower there because of that. There appeared to be a heater on the wall up high but it wasn't on. Also, the fire ring was full. Didn't look like it had been cleaned in a long while. The signage at the restrooms couldn't be read because plexiglass was worn and milky.

One of the best stays we have had on the road. Very clean and quiet. No utilities except electric but had a nice dump station and the bath house was clean with warm water. The sites are secluded and there is a nice waking trail with access behind most sites. We cant wait to visit again.

Peaceful clean campground. Lots of cardinals and hummingbirds. Surrounded by lots of nature. Bathrooms/ shower was good. Nice trails for hiking. Campsites are good size with many having good privacy. Only downfall was other bathroom and beach access still closed due to hurricane Florence years ago.

We enjoyed our stay at Flanners Beach Campground. It is a very nice park, sites are a good size, and seems to be very well maintained. Only negative was it rained the day we checked out causing some tree limbs to hang lower over the road onto our motorhome roof and sides when departing through the park. It's very convenient to New Bern, Atlantic Beach and other local attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place. Small, quiet, private campsites, nice clean bath house. Hosts were exceptional.... helpful, friendly. They quickly identified a maintenance issue during our visit, working hard to resolve. The regional Croatan National Forest staff needs to step up on their side; restrooms near tent area have been out of service for several years.

Most disappointing, sites have not been trimmed back in years, limbs hanging into site entrance, fite pit had 18" W x 18" H log sitting inside it partially burnt(have pics) host didn't remove before arrival; only saw host once all week he was off working elsewhere not addressing campground, wife went around changing site booking tags that's it. Bathhouse was ok but no electric so couldn't shave.

Nice small campground with a lot of good trails to bike and hike. Only power at the sites, no water nor sewer. The check in was very weird, you go to the closed gate and text the host you are there. After many back and forths you have to open the gate yourself (it was raining for us) and drive thru and close it behind you. I gave only 3 stars instead of 4 based on the sad issue that the beach IS STILL CLOSED AFTER 4 YEARS! Come on COE, get off the stick already.

Basic bare bones campground with electric sites and water and dump stations. If the beach could be opened back up this would be a 5 star review! Excellent trails and biking. Close to New Bern, Morehead City, Cherry Point, and Atlantic Beach

What a wonderful campground. Bathroom is clean. Host are helpful and very nice. Not far from a grocery store. There is a lot to do and see in the area. If you have a chance to go to New Bern check out the Country Biscuit Restaurant. Amazing biscuits.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
