Nice Campground and the Camp Host at the time I visited was the best Host ever! The only downside is some sites are tight and even if deep enough for a Motorhome my site 13 was so tight I could barely put my slides out. Unfortuantely they anchored the picnic table right in the prime parking area.A worthy note is Flaners Beach Camground has a beach there is no ACCESS to. That's not an issue for me but if you head there for the Beach, good luck. The town of New Bern was Lovely and we're going back. But I won't get 13 again! The showers could use a coat of paint and some updating, but brign your own water, the well water is highly untasty. It was worth every penny however, these Federal Campgrounds are a bargain and with a PASS, it's also a super bargain!

This was my third stay in eight months. I will stay here again. The good: Abundant trees and flora provide much appreciated shade and reasonable privacy. On each of my last two trips I've seen additions and improvements, e.g., new water hydrants and added site gravel (much appreciated during heavy rain). I also was told that the Neuse River/Fanner's beach access is FINALLY going to be improved and REOPENED later this year! The bad: During my stay, of the three shower stalls: one had a clogged drain and was not usable and one practically had no water pressure. Full disclosure: I showered there only on my last night and I left the park at 0730 the following morning so I did not report this directly to the park hosts.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. The location is perfect, remote enough to get away from the world, close enough to grab Starbucks if you need it. Quiet campground with lots of trees and privacy. Bathhouse is adequate, but nothing special. Trash and water could be closer to camp sites, both require a little walk. Night time gate seems unnecessary.

Nice and quiet forest setting. Couple of negatives are that the beach was closed and shower water pressure is poor.

Area is beautiful and we loved our campsite. The only negative was the host kept the gate closed all the time so if you went out you had to open the gate and when you got back same thing. We have been to many camp grounds and never experienced that.

Great place. Wish we could get all the trials cleared out. Other than that. It’s beautiful there. And lovely management.

Great campground hosts. Nice clean campsites. Very clean bathrooms. Other campers were courteous. Close to New Bern. Truly enjoyed the stay. Will come again.

My husband and I had a great time. This is a nice campground, family oriented. We will return.

I really like this quiet campground that is located so conveniently to New Bern, Cherry Point, Morehead City, and Beaufort. Sites are private and shaded. Restrooms and showers are clean and private. Trails are nice, but it was too wet from rain to use them on this trip. I really wish the Forest Service would reestablish access to the river though. It's a shame to have a riverside campground where there isn't even a view of the river.

Host very nice! Close to restaurants and grocery stores. Nice trails to bike ride or run. Good space on lots.

Nice small campground with sites that are private and not too close together.
