This was a very pleasant campground, although we spent little time here. Site #9 was plenty big enough for our 30ft camper but a tad hard to get in to because of the permanently placed picnic table. Used all of our electric cord to get to the 30 amp receptacle. Shower facility was clean but hot water was in short supply. Also watch out for the fresh water fill hose by the dump. You might get an unexpected shower.

Flannels Beach is delightful, but it is a shame users cannot see the river. Was great to hear the Canada geese coming and goingtho.

Our first visit to Flanners Beach CG. We will be back. We spent a week here, and the campground was pretty quiet the whole time. The campsites are private. Plenty of walking trails through some beautiful coastal forest land, which is what we like. Just a few miles north of the campground is where you will find B&J Seafood, which we highly recommend.

Great except for the shower which needs hotter water and lack of drinkable water at campsite.

Nicely spaced sites with pretty good privacy. Convenient location.

For all: We stayed at site 09. This is a great place! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again. No issues with the site, the amenities, the hosts, or the gates ;)

We enjoyed the trails and the privacy of the campsites! Bathrooms are clean! Only wish would be an outside dishwashing station with hot water near bathhouse!

This campground is so cozy and peaceful. My campsite, #9, like most of the sites, was so enclosed by trees that it was very private. It's located just across from the bathhouse, which was quite a convenience; the comings and goings of other campers was not at all disruptive; I really never noticed them. The woodland trails are delightful, and it's nice to bike ride out to Hwy. 70. I would very much like to be able to go down to the beach, and so I look forward to the Forestry Service completing the Hurricane Florence cleanup so that the beach will be accessible. Even without being able to go down to the actual beach, the views across the Neuse River from the picnic area are magnificent. My one suggestion would be to leave the gate open during the daylight hours, so that campers don't have to get in and out of their cars to open and close the gate each time they leave and re-enter the campground.

My grandkids and I really enjoyed Flanners Beach. It was spotless and neatly kept including the bathhouse. I am definitely looking forward to going again.

Great 2 night stay at this campground convenient to New Bern and Beaufort. Campsite was spacious and easy to pull in. Lovely trail access from right behind the site. Bathrooms were a bit dated but clean enough. Plenty of hot water. Only downside to the showers was you had to hold the button down in order for the water to run. Definitely saves water but on a cold day (in the 30s) it was chilly in there!! Great site access to a few river lookout points - cant wait to come back when the beach access is back open again.

Love taking my Travel Trailer to this Great campground to get away from all the hectic everyday life. Camp is off the Betten path so to speak. My third visit and the campground. All Facilities are well kept, and the bath house is very clean. Camp Host was Great and keeps the riffraff out a plus. Nature path to enjoy nature at it Greatest. Beach area is closed due to storms of the past. Hope it will open soon. Not too far from the Marine Base and Atlantic Beach. Cedar Island Ferry is not too far away for a Great Day Trip. Been there and done it.Hope to visit again soon!! See ya

Look at the Map before you book your reservation. This campsite is very close to MCAS Cherry Point - a military air station - that means loud military jets flying overhead. The noise stopped before 8PM, but overall it was not conducive to a relaxing camping experience. There is another campground 35 miles further away from the air station and just as close to the water.

The host was very friendly and helpful.
The camping area was clean and a lovely site to stay at.
The rest rooms and shower were clean and maintained daily.
And you can't beat the price per night.
It is a 35 to 40 minute drive to the coast with plenty to do.
We will return again!

We had a very pleasant time at Flanner's Beach. It was disappointing that the access is closed to the River. Hopefully the Forest Service will get that open soon.
