Just the typical issues for this campground: - in the showers: no working light, floor drain backs up, water temp is not adjustable and hot enough to scald! - could not take a shower!- sites rarely cleaned- queen size mattress lying on ground next to dumpster for the last 2 years. Really??!! Looks like an abandoned property.- water fill tower leaks at the top syphon break: it's a shower! Bring your umbrella.

Campsite was pretty clean, some micro trash but not bad. Been here twice this year, love it!

What a beautiful little campground. Quiet and right near the Neuse River. We took a nice walk down to the river and enjoyed the solitude. The restrooms and showers were clean and stocked. Really wonderful experience.

We really like this place. We loved all the hiking trails, and the campground itself was really nice. The sites were spacious and private with lots of trees in between there are many interesting places to visit nearby. We definitely would come by again when we’re in the area.

Nice quiet campground with adequately sized sites. Bath house facilities very clean and in excellent order. Lovely picnic grounds and trails.

The hosts make it seem like a prison. You are constantly being stalked by the hosts family whether in your campsite or going to the bathrooms/showers. They shut the electricity off while we were gone one day and they locked the only working shower which was handicapped and the reason they gave was because people learned how to keep the water on. Several people including one who was handicapped asked for them to unlock it and they wouldn’t. Keep your belongings with you when you leave because they send their children to snoop for them while you’re gone and even while you’re there. Every time me or my kids went to the bathroom or shower their teenage boys would roll up on their bikes and wait around in the other side of the door. The hosts family takes up 4 campsites so they blend in. It took us all of one day to put it together that they were all together. They use one of the campsites as a place to park their extra camper and rent out to guests yet online it showed that campsite was available every night we were there yet they had their camper on it. The bathrooms and showers are filled with bugs and they only clean the handicapped showers which is the only one with hot water and only one that has a functioning shower head and once they figured out we were using it as well as other guests they locked it. Their children would unlock it and use it each morning then lock it back afterwards. The only reason I settled on this place was the showers yet we found out while there the campgrounds on the outer banks also had showers and were cheaper per night and didn’t have prison wardens as hosts.

So I’m start out by saying that I read some not so flattering reviews about this campground and they where wrong. The problem with some campers are they hate to be held accountable. There are rules to camping try asking why versus blaming the host for rules that come with the job. The campground was well maintained and the bath house was clean. As usual you have the few who feel like filling the bathroom trash can instead of walking to the dumpster. The beach is closed for safety after the hurricane so if you want the beach try driving there. I enjoyed the sites leveled on gravel. The trails were challenging for hikers and mountain bikers. There were plenty of kids for my kids to play with so go slow and watch out for the kids. This campground was conveniently close to Walmart and 25 to 30 minutes from Atlantic Beach.
