The sites and facilities were well maintained and clean. I enjoyed walking through the area and spending time in the picnic section--enjoying the sunshine. Meeting other campers staying nearby was also a pleasure.

I didn't realize that the entire beach was closed due to Hurricane Florence from 2018. My son and I were planning on fishing there for stripers and red drums.Other than that, the campground was nice and clean.

Nice campground next to the Neuse River. Plenty of services in the area if you need propane or groceries or whatever. Beautiful trails with varied levels of difficulty including paved which circles the campground and a more rugged path that goes by wonderful views of the river. Unfortunately at this time the beach area is closed with a huge fine if you try to go down there. Hopefully theyll have it open soon. Otherwise the campground has a decent shower and bathroom area, electric and non-electric sites and is staffed by a nice couple who work hard keeping the campground well groomed and decent. Weekends can be noisy with lots of people especially Friday evening/night but during the week it is calm and peaceful.
