A nice little campground with a mix of open and shaded sites. Most RV sites will accommodate big rigs to 40ft. A few walking trails and visitors center nearby. New Bern (12miles north) and Havelock (10miles south) offer grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and supplies. Sites are gravel, fairly level and fairly private. Only 30/50 electric at sites but a couple of community spigots with drinking water available. Cell coverage can be a little spotty but I've generally gotten a reliable and sufficiently strong enough signal to work remote, including video calls.

Loved the site. It was right next to the camp host. The walking trails were nice and bathrooms and showers were clean. Enjoyed my stay. T-Mobile service was great. 5G at this spot

The campground is very nice. The beach well that was a bust. No access so no beach for Flanners Beach. The bath house was okay the bathrooms needed more butt wipes , the showers we okay. The sites were nice and secluded and level.

Easy to access the site. Very wide driveway. Access to the narrow beach on the river is closed due to damage from a hurricane in 2018, but it appears to be for safety reasons. It looks like it's more than just clearing a path, rebuilding some stairs or something. Bath house was well maintained and kept very clean. While there's no water at the sites, the fill station was very easily accessible.

We were very pleased with our stay at Flanners, we have stayed there numerous times; although we do have some comments and suggestions. Why is there a manual gate that each camper has to manually open/close to enter/exit, even in rain/severe weather? It is completely unnecessary and more of a nuisance to your campers. If safety is your reason, a manual gate isn’t the answer. The website is a complete mess and extremely frustrating to navigate. There have been countless times we’ve wanted to stay but we’re unable to book, because we cannot ride in our motor home over 2 hours to find that we can’t get in. We have rode down in our car after that and saw the campground almost empty?!? It shows that numerous sites are first come first serve, but they’re not? Only one site when you’re physically there is for a FF? There are campers that are there and have been there for an extended period of time, unoccupied on a site (10) that shows FF indefinitely? (Even though your rules say that you cannot leave your campsite unoccupied for more than 24 hours.) This is the only NC site we have visited that is this poorly managed; it seems as if the camp hosts are running it themselves. The camping location and experience is nice; the booking and many other things are unorganized and unsatisfactory. Suggestions are that the website needs to be redesigned and managed properly. The manual gate needs to be closed during quiet time only. And the camp hosts time served needs to be limited, not just continued for years and years as your current hosts have been; they’re too complacent in their duties.

Very nice Campground shaded bathrooms I cannot speak for because we used our own facilities in our camper . Was nice up and to the point that I came back from a walk with my dog and the host was yelling at my husband as she threw three bags of dog poop into our driveway and told us we needed to pick them up and take care of them because they where ours when I told her they were not ours I had mine in my hand she continued to holler at me for 10 minutes and her husband came over and told us we had to pack our stuff and get out we were not welcomed back. After reading previous post I guess the host has anger issues and the husband just likes to throw everybody out of the campground.

The camp ground was nice and private. We were upset that the government website did not inform us that the beach was closed! But what more can you expect from a government moving to socialism.

It is no longer a beach. You can not get to the water

We arrived in a downpour w/lightning. Did not know where to because the gates were closed. If we had been familiar it wouldn’t have been too bad. Or not raining. There were small signs on the gate with instructions. The campground was very nice. Restrooms clean as were showers. We enjoyed our stay here very much. We did wish the beach area was available so we could of gone swimming. I would give this campground 5 stars

The hosts make this location a gem.
The location is close to everything yet it feels like you’re tucked away in your paradise.
The sites are clean and easy to get around. The at the gate reservation process is smooth and both the hosts and the co-host are awesome.
I return over and over because of the sense of family.
Travelers tend to pick up family members and I’ve picked up the hosts at Flanners.
