This is a quiet and lovely place with spacious sites and clean bathroom/shower facilities. Two hosts on site. Beach is still closed years after Hurricane Florence, but has a nice day use picnic area and walking/biking trails. The government needs to invest in restoring the beach and erosion control. Close to New Bern and Havelock for modern conveniences. Would have given five stars except for the beach closure and the groundskeeper was rude and aggressive about flagging down and yelling at cars he felt were exceeding the speed limit on his "watch." Some were clearly not exceeding the limit. Although I certainly understand the vigilance and the need to enforce rules, as a lady camping alone this aggressiveness made me uncomfortable. The nastiness is completely unnecessary and if speeding is such an issue, be proactive and encourage the NPS to install speed bumps instead of cursing and screaming at guests. Hosts should be approachable and a resource, and proactive and positive in enforcing rules. Sarcasm and rudeness should NEVER be tolerated, and gets most people fired from their jobs. Please check the Google reviews for this campground - the rudeness of the hosts here is notorious and needs to be addressed.

The campground is wonderful and would be a full five star review if it were fully open. One of the main draws of the campground is the beach access to the river to fish and launch Kayaks. Once this is opened I would rate this as one of the best we have found.

We absolutely loved Flanners Camp! Jackie the host and her husband were great, full of information around the area! They kept everything cleaned and well maintained. A beautiful area to call home for 2 weeks, hiking, site seeing, the history at Macon Fort, Radio Island to go fish🤗 A drive to the Outer Banks! Oh and the beauty of the fighter Jets at the near by base flying overhead! We love our stay!

We camped in site 37. The site is wide, but the marker for the site is a bit confusing as you can back into the next site by mistake. plenty of trails to bike or hike that are well maintained.

We reserved site 37 for our 23 foot rv. There is no way a rv can get into this site unless maybe a small teardrop camper. Online stated for camper or tent. People who were there camping told us that site is usually for tent only. Anyway, camp host stated nothing else was available and couldn't help cancel my reservation. Eventually, we found a nice site at another campground up the road. We really like Flanners Beach and have stayed there before site 13, but online site 37 should state for tents only. Could not clear 10 feet backing in due to trees, they would have taken our air conditioning unit off. After calling 3 times, we finally got a refund.
Easy check-in, facilities are clean and grounds are well maintained. Highly recommended! We will be back very soon!

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
