Campsite had almost everything we needed. A shower on this side of the campsite and grills would make the site on this side of the road perfect. These site are a lot more spaced out and less people traffic than those on the river side.

Pretty to look at but could use some work. Road around park was noisy.

Camp host was EXTREMELY nice and pleasant to work with. Campsite was beautiful and she made sure that the fire pit was in good condition and the campsite blown off of leaves. Nice, peaceful sites, just a little noisy sometimes from road traffic, especially bigger trucks downshifting navigating the curve near the site. We really enjoyed the site and will definitely use it again!

Great little spot, along the river, very close to trails. Clean facility

Still suffering effects of flooding from Hurricane Helene. You can tell work has been done, but please be aware of road closures - the Blue Ridge Parkway in particular. There is currently only one way in and one way out - you can only approach from the north. Beautiful campground, but tight for trailers. Only 2 men's and 2 women's toilets and same for showers.

We love this campground. The kids have a blast tubing the river, and the location is beyond beautiful. The staff are always friendly and I really like their little store! A total win. We come every summer.

The pavilion is huge! The pavilion area was clean, the ground was flat, and tables were sturdy. We had plenty of room for our large group which included little kids and elderly people. The park attendants were friendly and answered all questions. A short set of steps led down from parking. The main swimming area and restrooms were an easy walk.

I camped in site 7. It's a nice site with a view of the South Toe River but it is awkward for tent camping. The picnic table should be moved to the fenced end of the site and turned perpendicular to the river. The fire pit should be moved closer to the table at that end. This will make the open more space and give tent campers more room further away from the fire pit. I didn't use the fire pit because it was too close to the fire pit. This was the first time I had camped at Carolina Hemlocks and was impressed overall. The restrooms were clean and the showers worked well. I will be planning a return visit.

First time at this campground, but familiar with the location. Loved the campsites we hadon the river, spacious,, easy setup. Sites 2, 4, 6, and 7 are recommended. Enjoyed talking to the camp host and the info she provided. Noisier than any other campground, not due to campers, but the road traffic. I was awakened around 6am by a construction truck using his extremely loud air brakes. Two roads sandwich the campground, so be aware. Normally the traffic noise is negligible unless your site is on the Hwy 80 side. The water has a yellow tint to it and tasted treated. Still, these did not detract from the trip. Loved the access to the river and if Id brought a swim suit or shorts, I could have done some laps at one of the access sites. Well be back to this campground.

This is a lovely place. Its natural, functional, and the river is beautiful too. All the staff were nice. All the other campers were quiet and nice. Kids were pulling in trout, so excited. Others were riding rapids. The current was strong for a good workout swimming. Three and four generation families made many of the groups of locals. Hot clean showers. Clean air, clean water.

I had a great time! It was a sweet campsite and I enjoyed the quieter wooded side of the campground. They have done a lot of work on public areas and campsites along the river after Hurricane Helene, and the river is still glorious and great for swimming and just appreciating the natural beauty of the area.

Great campground! The bathrooms were pretty clean, swimming hole is fantastic. It would be helpful if the store was open a bit later.

My kids and I love this place. We camped 6 days. We were close by the host. The host was jumping on people for running a quiet generator after 8. Then people related to the host came in one evening, threw up some tents in an area that wasnt suppose to have tents and partied all night. Kids running around screaming all night, big diesel truck running with its bright lights shinning right on my tent all for hours. I think had the host been better and made everyone follow the rules, our stay would have been great.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
