I love coming here, the hosts are as nice as can be. Unfortunately too many others feel the same way...........

The campground, bathhouse, and dishwashing station was kept immaculate. Very clean. The staff and camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Very close access to the Florida Trail for hiking.

As always, the couple running the campground were so amazing and helpful! We were lucky to get site 41 again and its a favorite. We rented a canoe this time which was fun and the sunset was incredible! Clean bathrooms and beautiful surroundings!

The facilities are clean and well maintained. The path around Clearwater Lake is a nice walk. Having the the trailhead for the Florida Trail right by the campground is great.

Beautiful place but those showers need to be fixed. They won't stop leaking so when you take a shower only a trickle of water.

My dad and I always used to camp here and ever since the new staff have came in it hasnt been the same. They are rude and lazy. They close the park two hours early (got there at 4:00pm online and sign says 6:00pm, the sign had a printed out number four taped on and the gates were locked no one in the guard house), and are not helpful with anything. Even when you show them you had made a reservation online they cant even get the camp site number right.

Our experience at Clearwater was AMAZING! The campgrounds are extremely well kept, the staff is wonderful. The staff continuously check in on us and made sure we were good with ice or needed any help w anything, we ran out of propane and one offered a tank to us. The staff is what makes us want to return again. Not to mention, the views and lake are awesome. Beautiful site, definitely one of the greatest Ove visited in Fl.

For the most part, we really enjoyed our stay here. You can tell it is not designed for bigger rigs. We have a 35' TT and did ok. Taller rigs will want to be careful as there are low branches throughout. We did have one experience as we were leaving that rubbed me the wrong way. We were camped next to my brother and sister-in-law and our kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins. We make a point to make sure our kids are being respectful of other campers/campsites and know to respect the boundaries of other people's sites. As we were packing up to leave at 10 am on a Sat, our kids were out playing with bubbles and chasing their cousins and laughing having a great time while staying between our 2 sites. The host came by and asked us if we could have our kids "keep it down, people were complaining". While he was respectful and nice about it, I couldn't help but be a little confused. Quiet time in the campground is 10 pm to 7 am. Our kids were out being kids at 10 am. I feel like we should encourage our children to play outside, and get off devices. I just have a hard time believing that our kids playing was more disruptive than the chorus of generators running, or the large motorcycle group constantly in and out and rumbling through the campground. Our public lands are a beautiful thing and different people prioritize different things. Some want peacefulness and nature, some want exploration, wonder and play. Luckily there is enough everyone should be able to find both. I guess I would argue the campgrounds with noisy generators, trucks and motorcycles is a good place for kids to be loud and play (during appropriate hours). While a short walk to the nearby nature trail could provide some quiet and peacefulness for those looking for that. I hope the host will consider pushing back against someone complaining about children playing in the future, for now it seems this place may not be the best for families. Sad because ours had so much fun otherwise.

Nice woodsy campground with access to forest service roads and several trails, including the Florida Trail, which began nearby in the Ocala National Forest.
